After trial and error with other materials (we kept breaking them when we tied to screw in the mount) we actually hunted down a company in Perugia that makes outdoor signs to make our custom insert to mount our vent tube thingy. I came up with the idea of using velcro strips to mount the insert in the window opening, and it works like a charm.
