UPDATE:
I made some progress, but there's a lot of work to do, since the only external library I'm using is Libev (event loop). For networking I'm using POSIX API to make TCP connections with relays and dealing with connection upgrade from http to websockets. Everything in C99.
Again, it's just for fun, so I don't care if it's not the optimal way to do it.
The ultimate goal of this project is to be a client that can be compiled and used even on the most limited computer with internet acess.

I think Nostr is a pretty good tool for conscious people, but the sad truth is that most people don't care about censorship when they're not being directly affected. I can't blame them, it's hard to fight against dictatorship when you have to work 6 days a week to have something to eat. That's why I think printing money is not only a way to government get money, but also a tool of control, to keep people miserable enough to don't have time to care about politics.

My opinion after 15 days using #nostr :
I'm using the default set of relays of #amethyst and at the beginning it was pretty hard to find real content. Everything I saw when scrolling was bot spam, scams and sometimes AI softporn.
I was almost giving up and uninstalling my client, when had the idea of following everyone that was followed by fiatjaf. So I started to have a good followed feed (when I unfolowed all the hashtags, people usually don't know how to use it properly), and now I'm naturally finding more people to follow.
Now, honestly, I'm happy that I didn't give up on Nostr. Unlike the mainstream social media, it looks natural, spontaneous, I don't know how to explain. And there's a lot of stuff that people are building around it, I see a bright future for Nost.
I'm glad that I found nostr 🙂
(And sorry for my bad English, I'm trying to improve my writing).
