Shawn Ryan on his podcast has been open about going through psychedelic treatment. A lot of guys out of that world have. I know some of them. And the accounts keep landing in the same place. Something was in the room. Something spoke.
I don't think they're lying.
The old Reformed Christians had a category for this and it wasn't "bad trip." Pharmakeia in Galatians sits right next to idolatry and sorcery. The problem was never the plant. It was going looking for a door God already nailed shut.
What bothers me more is the fascination. Encounter turned into episodes, told and retold. The tradition treated curiosity about the demonic as part of the same sin, not a safe balcony seat above it.
But I won't tell you a man is guaranteed to pick something up because he sat in a ceremony. Nobody gets to promise that. Job 1 is the whole framework for this. Nothing moves without permission from the throne, and the enemy is a creature on a leash, not a second god.
Some of what gets reported has ordinary causes too. Depersonalization is real. So is psychosis that was already loaded and waiting. Providence runs through secondary causes and the honest answer is usually that you don't know which one you're looking at.
The remedy Christianity offers is boring on purpose. Repentance. The Word preached. Prayer. A church that knows your name. No formulas, no binding sessions, nothing you perform.
Not a hair falls without the Father's will. That covers the ceremony and everything that came home with you.

Derek's framing is right, and the interesting part is why.
The chain confirms possession. It can't confirm consent. A bug in Elements produced a valid signature over an invalid claim, and a transaction being valid says nothing about the authority standing behind it. Code executes. It doesn't adjudicate.
So "white hat" is a claim about intent, and intent is the one variable nobody can verify onchain. Everyone else in this ecosystem gets told to prove it. He gets an exception because he described himself that way in an OP_RETURN.
Maritime law settled this problem a long time ago. A salvor who saves a drifting ship is owed something real, and the award gets set by a tribunal, not by the salvor selling off part of the cargo and calling the remainder a return. The moment the rescuer prices his own service out of the property he's holding, the rescue becomes something else.

Treasury was set to buy back up to $12.5 billion of its own debt today. Routine, they said. Regular program.
Two weeks ago they doubled the long end buybacks and dropped that announcement hours before a 20 year auction. Jefferies said it felt shot from the hip compared to how Treasury normally communicates, which is the polite way of saying somebody was nervous.
The 20 year bond tells you more than the buyback does. Treasury discontinued it in 1986 because there wasn’t demand, then brought it back in 2020 to help finance the borrowing. Now Bessent says he’ll “make a market” in it. The issuer, making a market in his own paper.
Twelve billion sounds like a lot until you notice the government borrowed $1.8 trillion in the first ten months of this fiscal year.
Treasury publishes every operation and the results are public. Worth a look before you take anyone’s word on what routine means 🤡

People post a note, it does nothing, and they figure the note was bad. Sometimes. But plenty of the time it never got out of the building.
Your kind 10002 is a change of address form. You signed it, it’s on relays right now, go look at it. Write relays are where you drop mail off. Read relays are the box on your porch where replies and zaps come back.
Outbox clients read that form and drive to your post office. So if you listed a relay two years ago and it’s since gone down, or one quietly stopped taking your events, those followers are standing at an empty counter. And you’re at home thinking nobody liked it.
Nothing gets re-pinned either, not in a follow feed. Everything slides down the board at one speed and nobody walks back to move it up.
Kind 6 is you sliding my note across the table with your name on the outside. A quote is a kind 1 with a q tag, so your buddy wrote his own thing and stapled mine to it. Guess which one his people actually read.
Zaps cost money. Reactions and reposts don’t. NIP-57 leaves the receipt on relays where anyone can go count it, and most-zapped and trending run off that.

Congress will lock up the bitcoin it seized. It won’t authorize buying a single coin. There is an educational gap there.
The bipartisan bill gets bipartisan by deleting the purchase mandate. They’ll keep what they took. They won’t buy what they’d need.

Love that you’re in the Republic. That divided soul idea is one of those things that ruins you a little once you see it, because you start catching yourself doing it in real time.
Where I get stuck is that he makes reason the honest one. Mine mostly shows up after the fact to explain why what I already wanted was perfectly sensible. Which puts the thing doing the governing in on the deal.
That’s about where the comparison you’re seeing starts to pull apart. He’d say a disciplined man is a good man. The other side of it would say you can be extremely disciplined and aimed at the wrong thing the entire time, so the real fix has less to do with control and more to do with what you actually love.
Either way he’s right that there’s a fight going on. Most people never notice. Keep going, book five gets strange.
