If you know your app doesn't work from the store, and you do now if you didn't before, then it shouldn't be in the store.

What is the POINT of even having it in the store if it's just the same as downloading it from the web? It seems like you did a lot of work to give your users a much worse experience with your app.

Ok I'm grumpy, let's me a little more productive: how am I supposed to, as a user, fix this situation? I can't manually update it from the store, as far as I know, because it just says "installed". Assume I don't have ESP or telepathy to know "who to blame" and just tell me what a user of your app is supposed to do to get updates

When I click the icon that says KeePass I get a dialog with that cute little green icon in the upper left which nags me to upgrade, when I installed it from a store that does auto-upgrades. If you don't want me to blame you, you should fix it so you're not the one showing me the error-- if that dialog came with a cute little Microsoft icon then I'd blame them. See how it works?

It can keep my video games up to date but it's somehow technically incapable of keeping my password manager up to date? Sure. Very believable excuse.

Instead of plotting petty revenge and scribbling poop emojis over screenshots, consider keeping the Windows Store version of your app up to date so it stops nagging me to upgrade every time I launch it.

I guess thinking about it what you're trying to say is:
Since it's a "legitimate" email from Paypal's point of view (Paypal has no way of knowing it was redirected to the wrong person) it therefore should have a full name in it
And the "facepalm" is because these guys figured out some way to get Paypal to not print the name?

In my head, if it's not addressed to you but you got it, it's not "legitimate". Maybe that's the disconnect.
Either way, it sounds like Paypal's "if your name is missing, this email is a fake" is working fine to me. At least it worked in this case.

I don't understand the face palm in your edit-- the footer says legit emails include your full name and the email you have, which is NOT legit, doesn't have a name... why is that a facepalm? Sounds like whatever Paypal is doing to put your full name on legit emails is working.
EDIT: I mean obviously it would be better if they didn't have scam emails coming from their servers at all, but at least that part of their security seems to be working
