The Netherlands just passed a 36% unrealized capital gains tax. We walked through the full worked example on the latest Bitcoin Brief and the numbers are staggering.
You start with 500 shares worth 50,000 euros. They double to 100,000. You owe 16,700 in tax on gains you never took. The market drops. You are forced to sell. You end up 6,700 euros below where you started and you have permanently lost 28% of your holdings.

This week on Freedom Tech Friday we've got a guest — Miguel Medeiros, a Brazilian Bitcoin developer and creator of the Phoenixd dashboard.
If you're not familiar with Phoenixd, it's ACINQ's server-side Lightning node. Same software as Phoenix wallet, but designed to run on your own hardware with an HTTP API. Self-custodial, zero config, automated liquidity.
Miguel built a full web dashboard on top of it: contacts, recurring payments, BOLT12 support, analytics, remote access via Tor or Tailscale. There's even a native desktop app now.

Max Tannahill explains how he used BIP 47 PayNyms for payroll and merchant payments when running Mimushi. No fresh address requests, no address reuse, and no VPS operator seeing your payment addresses.
BTC Pay Server puts addresses on a server you might not control. BIP 47 keeps the resolution between sender and receiver only. For privacy-conscious buyers, it meant they could pay with a pseudonym and a PayNym, with nothing else visible.

Appreciate that timelines have slipped multiple times, but we’ve sent plenty of updates out via email since they ordered.
We are going through what we hope is the final round of bug fixes currently preventing the commencement of Prime mass production. We currently estimate this to be complete in the next 3-5 business days, after which we can begin shipping Prime.
We’ll be processing in order of receipt, beginning with Early Access Customer orders first, with more recent orders shipping around 2-3 weeks later.
When their order is ready to leave our factory, they will receive an automated email containing a tracking ID.
