I find the issue related to Ethernet cables. The tiny plastic piece on top that is supposed to hold the cable in the port wears down easily. I have super glued an end of a cable tie to mine and that works great except it's now too tight for one adapter but is ok in another. Ethernet cables are expensive and no designed for constant wear and tear.

A simple way to look at it. Take vitamin C RDI 80 mg per day. Does it make sense that you eat broccoli every day in winter and an orange a day in summer. Some areas broccoli won't even grow in winter let alone grow oranges. If nature doesn't produce the vitamin C for consumption, its broad population based recommendation is doubtful.

Both had similar themes.......scientist has crush on waitress, a difficult relationship with ones mother, not being successful in relationships, weddings, babies etc. Both are very good, but I find big bang more watchable on repeat, and has less cringy story lines. This is real timely........house was on the market a couple of years ago, and without going into the details, the realtors start acting bizarrely and lying about the zoning of the land its on, therefore diminishing its value.....a few months later, we get this off market approach by another realtor........not being as thick as shit, it screamed 'scam'. Report the agent to the regulatory body, and they dismiss the case, saying well 'no harm done'. For a small fee, we lodge an appeal on the basis that other people might not be so savvy, and fall for her tricks, and thus 'harm caused'. They have agreed, and in the midst of that process right now.

The realization is that the food variety/experiences means you have to accept the consequences of multi-culturalism. Is New Zealand, Maori, British English. Even if based on history, you can choose one of those two, then how do people exist with temples and mosques, business with no English written or spoken. Its funny you say that because I think she will be fine. Because Australia is so much bigger than NZ, the political interest is more one-sided - NZ follow Australia more than vice versa, so I think many will not be able to recognize her.

Honestly I have never considered that, but its a good question. The setup in the house is like this: in order of source:
1 Router with Wifi Disabled (Its not available for WIFI unless the admin settings are changed using the modems web interface. Note that the router has a plastic casing.
2 A shielded cable at both ends (one end in the LAN port of the router (shielded end connects with the plastic casing port)
2a The other end of the shielded cable goes into a metal casing Ethernet gigabit switch.
3 Another shielded cable is connected to a metal casing port in the gigabit switch at one end, and the other is connected to a metal cased adapter, which is then connected to whatever device you choose.
At this point you have Internet access using Ethernet to a mobile device or tablet, but the Ethernet gigabit switch is not grounded. Here we move to the next step which is the grounding rod.
A grounding rod has a metal alligator clip at one end, which simply clicks between two metal cased ports in the multi-port gigabit switch - metal to metal. The other end of the rod drops discreetly outside a nearby window and staked into the ground outside.
In summary that's how the setup is here, and to be honest, I only just looked now at the casing insdide the adapters and they are both metal, so I assume its OK. On that basis the only question I would pose back to you, what is the casing material of your adapter. If the answer is plastic, I can't say for sure........I would just a buy a new adapter😀

Totally. The old incandescents are still on sale here, but only one major supermarket chain stocks them. The two main hardware chains only stock LEDs. The larger issue here is that only 20-30% of stock of light fittings are compatible with incandescent bulbs. On the brightside of that while they fittings are ugly, or dated, they are the cheapest 😀

I cant recommend one, because everyone I have used is flaky, and rarely gives a continuous connection. For portable device use with ethernet, I use the daylight computer (tablet), and an USB C to ethernet adapter. So far I have not had an issue. @nprofile…r69k I know this is going to be disappointing to hear, but its my experience, and I have not tried everyone. I would just buy one, and see how you go, who knows you might find a reliable one.

Made with real silver and gold back then I think. My great grand father always boarded pennies under a generational wealth belief. This belief transferred down to my father. When he passed last year we had buckets full of pennies. Only the older ones pre-1948 (I think) had any value due to the cessation of gold and silver content. The remainder were more or less worthless. All three of them would be rolling in their graves. Sill got some gold guineas though!

Another beautifully written piece. The single biggest barrier to 'exit' is that people cannot identify their controlled conduct. A right winger will say, 'used cash at the supermarket' thinking they are objecting.
(Generally) If you purchase any food that is run off a production line, you are trapped. You can buy a keto something, your still trapped. Your free to choose your lipstick shade but needing lipstick is the hook your dangling from.
If people leaned towards cooking, sewing and gardening, it helps a lot. Of course gardening requires land which is now only for the fiat millionaires. You can sill go along way with cooking and sewing. Sewing machines are cheap.
