I'm not Catholic, but I did attend a Catholic school for a few years. At least once a week we would go to mass. The Catholic students would get a wafer. The rest of us were to bow our heads while the priest gave us a somewhat-silent prayer. It was probably something along the lines of, "Help this person convert to our cause."
Anyway, one day I was either curious, or maybe just hungry, and opened my mouth instead of bowing my head. YEEECHH!!! Who made these pieces of barely edable carboard? This certainly wasn't an example of divinity. Why talk about bread so much, then serve this abomination?

This is so great! On multiple levels too! I'm wondering if reaching out to any local community groups will help him scratch that itch.
Where I live, it's common to find an unofficial "dump site" in the woods. People don't want to pay a fee at the local landfills, so they find a secluded place in the woods. When someone spots one of these, community will organize to have a clean-up day at the location. It sounds like Germans are too responsible to have such a problem. Maybe it's time for a vacation to a worse culture. 🤣

My caveat: I don't know all the details. What I do know is that there are many aspects and layers of "tax avoidance". The definition of "tax avoidance" is using knowledge of tax laws to pay the least amount legally.
By building layers around your business activities, you can shield your business from tax exposure. One of those techniques is play with jurisdictions, since different governments have different areas of exposure. This is why most (all?) US credit card companies are besed out of Delaware. Companies below a Delaware umbrella can be based out of other jurisdictions, like Nevada, or some island, shielding them from taxes Deleware would make use of.
For personal taxes, holding a large amount of funds will get eaten away each year. This is why rich people have foundadtions. It appears that it's because their alturisitc, but it's really more like having a bank account that doesn't get taxed as much. The PR aspect is just a bonus. It's a similar concept as insurance companies filing as non-profit organizations.
Those are just a couple examples, out of many. It's not that large corporations don't pay taxes, but they have the funds to hire the type of accountant that knows the tax code thoroughly, and keeps an eye on it for changes, or helps write the new changes.
Our tax code is intentionally complicated so that the average "ma and pa" business can't figure out where they can dodge the tax bullets. In most cases, when a new "let's stick it to the corporations" tax code is proposed, it's written by the largest corporations, and meant to screw-over their lesser competition.

Most of my sky anomalies have been at night. Some were just unexplainable by normal happenings, and some were even playful. However, while driving past Mt. Shasta one afternoon, I saw a very large, angular, metalic shape out of my peripheral vision at the top of the driver's side window.
When I would look directly at it, it wasn't there/visible. When I would look back at the road, it was there. I consider most of the odd stories around Mt. Shasta due to a combination of imagination, expectation, and hippie drugs, but this experience had me spooked. I had the feeling of being watched, and a vibe that wasn't "friendly".

I scored a nice "bow rake" today while running errands. This is the type of rake I grew up with. When I first saw a leaf rake, it seemed so flimsy and inadequate for the job. That was even before polymer leaf rakes started showing up on shelves.

Privacy is not something that was considered when forming the Nostr protocol. We can change that as we go forward, but that is not the current state.
Nostr is based on a cryptographically verifiable public identity.
The only current way to have privacy on Nostr is to use the same privacy tools that are used outside of Nostr: VPN, Tor, etc.
Nostr is not about privacy, just like SMTP is not about privacy.

I haven't found any critical defects with Delta Chat ( https://delta.chat/ ) for private messaging.
In addition to ProtonMail ( https://proton.me/mail ), I like Tuta ( https://tuta.com/ ).
Some privacy oriented Firefox clones are LibreWolf (desktop) and IronFox (Android).
Instead of using the router your ISP supplies, it's easy to buy your own. That alone, prevents them from seeing some information. Sometimes that's a cheaper option too. Bonus if you install OpenWRT over the manufacturer firmware. From there, you can control a lot more of what content comes to your devices (ads, etc), in addition to controlling more of your own upstream traffic.
Get a second router, but don't connect it to the Internet, and you can have a private LAN too.

The crowd opened up, he landed on the concrete floor, and was carried out on a stretcher. For some reasonv nearly every woman there was well endowed, and Perry mentioned that on stage. The bands played their hearts out. The group of friends that I went with all had a blast, and we talked about it for days.
The first Lollapalooza at Irvine Meadows comes in as a close second, but that might be due to the LSD I took before it started.

I'll have to add another step to my image process.
Due to this note, I found a "resize" menu in my image editor. It brought a 15Mb file down to 700k. I had been cropping to bring the filesize down, since that was removing some info, and droppinng the resolution some. Obviously, not enough!

I noticed that some of the pics I uploaded yesterday were ~7-8 Mb. I usually aim for "sub 3 Mb". I also got some errors while uploading a batch, and had to start over. After posting them, I noticed slow loading. Before yesterday, I never had any issues. Maybe it's time for me to get a free web host and have my own gallery there. 🤔
