I guess it depends. Ark is probably. more appropriate for near-real-time finality, and likely very well suited to trade between members of a community.
Lighting will always prevail for real time, coffee-bar type transactions.
Perhaps secure enclaves (see: #Lexe wallet) could be used to reduce Ark liquidy requirements; vtxo refresh could then be delegated.

Many countries (notably those based on English + Roman law, but even Iranian, Lebanese etc) have three or more branches of government; typically: Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary.
Good model but start to break down if the branches try to undermine each other, as has been a chronic feature in US politics for the last coupe of decades. I don't think 'code is law' will fix this... It would almost certainly lead to the end of human freedom.

I like it. The Seven Principles are somewhat idealistic; as we know from similar systems (US constitution) conflicts exist at the edges, and pillars work to undermine one another. Definitely a hood starting point for more discussion and consideration. Modular is 100% right and more implementations in different languages will help antifragility.

Many of the improvements of Bolt12 on Bolt11 are related to privacy. But again, it depends how you use it, and depends on ur individual threat model.

I'm not in favour of BIP110, and I'm also not in favour of Peter Thiel type companies using Bitcoin as a decentralised immutable memory module.
I started working to further Bitcoin because uncensorable money seemed like a good idea when the government made me show a vaccine QR code in order to buy food. However I did not sign-up to Bitcoin being used by Palantir in order to carry out genocide (i.e. Palestine, Ukraine) and build totalitarian control grids, that are known by many techno-theologians as 'The Beast System'.
Why don't you put your Citrea use case on the Liquid network? At least there it'll have guardrails insofar as the functionaries will have an opportunity to do an emergency pause?

I believe that a release setting defaultcarriersize to 80bytes would be the best solution. It is impossible to stop all non-financial data; most simply, a motivated actor can just use a bunch of output addresses. However it's one thing to scribble in the margins of a book, and another thing to provide them with blank pages.
Also, and importantly, it's not as though spam is the biggest issues. Citrea (the company that Core is acting for) is a Peter Thiel company, and you only need to look at the satanic stuff that Palantir is doing in Palestine to imagine how these people might use an immutable distributed memory module on behalf of their clients...or client.

My opinion is obviously "Pleb Slop" but for what it's worth, I saw some rogue core devs completely repurpose the mission of bitcoin, by reformatting it into an immutable memory module for one of Peter Thiel's companies. My response was to sell all of my Bitcoin, stop contributing to the project (I was working on adoption stuff) and find some actual freedom tech. I will consider restarting efforts when core clean the bed.

My understanding of the architecture - which might be wrong since I'm not involved in the project whatsoever - is that the nexus codebase will merely index content in order to make discovery faster.
The current position is a mesh of homeservers, leveraging Kademlia... so instead of web-ring, we have homeserver-mesh. But Kademlia mathematically optimises peer connections (based on available resource of each node) to achieve whole-mesh-optimality.
I haven't had a chance to spin-up a homeserver yet since I don't have much spare time during winter, but it's on my backlog. I saw in the recent dev call that homeserver admin panel now has a nice clickable user interface... and there's also an Umbrel homeserver app that's either been released or is close to release.

The client is a web app, and Ed25519 key management can be handled anywhere (inc. hardware devices like Nitrokey). Nexus hasn't even been built yet.
... so a sovereign homeserver negates the necessity to sign-up to anything.
