I am not a new bitcoiner.
- I can acknowledge that BIP110 is unfortunate.
- I am certain that core needs a disciplinary response to an unforgivable way of handling the clearly controversial datacarriersize change.
- Running older version of core is not sustainable in the long run and implicitly proves distrust to the core anyway
- Considering BIP110 from a code standpoint - and not from the unfortunate "forced" nature of the softfork proposal - I dont recognize, (from a technical point of view) how BIP110 makes bitcoin WORSE money.
- I do however recognize how 100kb datacarriersize makes bitcoin worse money
- I dont care about programmable money enough that I would in any way jeopardize bitcoin as borinh actual money.
So - with no ad hominem attacks at all - and with a constructive attitude -
I can acknowledge that it's a SUPER tough debate with good arguments on both sides.
How do I neglect the non-negotiable fact that
1. I have built distrust to Core and thus
2. need to run SOMETHING else
3. I technically dont disagree with knots + bip110
4. Disagree with forcing a minority softfork because its dangerous to the credibility of the bitcoin experiment

I would argue bitcoin had value even before the pizza purchase, but it was priced in fiat terms after that event.
I would also argue it is a stronger store of value today than it was at the time of the pizza purchase. (More decentralized, bigger network, yadda yadda)
Clearly, it is a better medium of exchange today than it was back then.
But it was a "good enough store of value" and a "good enough medium of exchange" that the pizza event was both economically desirable and technically possible.
They go hand in hand 🤷

The chicken and egg problem is in your last sentence. If its not a good store of value to begin with, I wouldnt accept it as payment for my goods and services.
So it needs to bootstrap by doing a bit of both increasingly better over time. Not technically, but 'better over time' in terms of network effects.

A cool bitcoin wallet duress protection mechanism could be:
- hit password wrong once
- then hit right password
Which triggers duress mode that shows some believeable amount of bitcoin in the wallet or maybe just the actual amount.
But duress mode is set to send to only be able to send to a pre-defined address despite allowing the attacker to input their own address in the UI.

I know ronindojo the node software never stopped working, but the dojo connected to samourais coinjoin implementation did stop, due to samourais coordinator being closed down. Then came ashigaru with another coordinator or a different solution solving samourais central vulnerability, right?
And so its ashigarus reliability I meant to ask about. Not because its been unreliable, just because it was new and I've never tried it.

Whats the specs of the rig you have the 3090s installed in? Which case should I look for if I decide to built something similar? Dual 3090s was my second choice before purchasing thr DGX spark.
Its crazy that you're running dual 3090s but still heavily reliant on cloud inference. I hope this changes during the coming year or two. I expect/hope your setup will be able to do much much more in a year than it does today as the exponential advancement of tech right now seems to be on the software side and not the hardware only.
Also.... if you're willing to share your monthly costs on cloud inference that would be very interesting, although completely understand if thats not something you want to broadcast.

Are those MoE models? Thats the only way I can make those tok/s make any sense with the experience Ive had.
I tried the 35b MoE and just didnt find it intelligent enough to substitute cloud models. I even tried the qwen 3.5 122b-a10b which activates 10b at a time, and still found it not strong enough. Speed was fine though.
Have now moved back to testing the dense 27b instead. Its not fast but not unusable.
I will be trying out the NVFP4 quantized model with Multi Token Prediction to see if that fares any better.
Should have prefaced with my setup. Im running a single DGX spark 128gb unified.

Here's my Agentic AI Journey
Brief background on who I am
- Zero computer science knowledge outside of excel (and formatting my dads desktop PC as a kid - using floppy disks)
- Studied Fiat Economics
- Discovered bitcoin in late 2016-2017 (toward the ending of my fiat economics indoctrination)
- Due to simultaneously jumping head-first into the rabbit-hole AND coming up on my final masters thesis semester - I had to wiggle my way into a Bitcoin related masters thesis subject
- This is where I discovered that computers think in binary - And discovered binary altogether 🤷
- So I crash-taught myself what binary is in order to kinda understand how cryptographic hash functions work - in order to kinda understand the concept behind the blockchain.
- Due to liking the computer science area, I quit my recently acquired job and started freelancing as a data analyst - specifically developing Microsoft Power BI solutions -> Which led to more engineering related tasks, resulting in a career in data engineering.
- That entire intro is to tell you that bitcoin changed the course of my life from fiat economics -> to freelance data engineering -> to now having an Agentic AI journey I wanna share with the world 🤷
SO! Back to AI
A friend reached out to me late one night asking "Hey, do you do agentic AI?" - To which I responded "Sure! whats up". Which wasn't a lie!!
I had installed claude code on my work laptop the week before and had used it to solve one task 😬
Next day, I ran openclaw on a laptop I had lying around, trying to fiddle with local models via Ollama. Higher end laptop but older. Decent CPU and 8GB vRAM. Massively specced for Power BI, Management Studio and Excel - But...
Not so much for Openclaw and Local LLMs - It just didn't work.
Way too small models required for that laptop, so it was basically useless. In hindsight, MAYBE llama.cpp would've been a better choice instead of ollama, but at that point in time I had no idea what that was.
Llama.cpp is an inference engine that is better suited at handling LLMs which need to be split between CPU and GPU.
Despite having had difficulties with the model itself, this first dip of the feet was enough to give me an intro into OpenClaw and the way its markdown files are set up. I now knew about :
- How the agent forms its identity
- That it has a soul
- That it wants information on me as a user and
- That it logs its memory into memory markdown files
This was massive and a lot of late nights were to follow.
This note turned into an #Introductions 🤷.

I say it its, you might say it sometimes is.
Lets be honest about disagreeing.
But under the assumption that bitcoin is money and only money except when spam finds its way through - then its not dangerous to say non-monetary data is unwanted.
On the other hand, it is dangerous to CHANGE a default setting in a major implementation of the protocol - to now signal to "spammers" that their spam is accepted on the blockchain.
If not STRICTLY necessary AND not widely accepted - dont merge changes.

I wanna use maple, but paying for a year upfront in a market where I have no idea where AI is in 3 months is a big ask.
Why not accept monthly payments, @nprofile…u4p9 ? Most paying AI users are probably paying 20 bucks a month for whatever model they're using.
Accepting monthly payments at Maple would remove a big entry barrier for that entire segment.
Right now, you're asking me to let go of better models AND pay a much higher amount upfront.
You can easily fix one of those problems and have my tradeoff be *slightly worse models for better privacy".

My umbrel node has been broken for a YEAR, just because I wanted to upgrade hardware.
Previous setup was raspberry pi 4 + external SSD.
I wanted to upgrade to a pi 5 with an NVME.
SO I DID. And have been having major issues ever since. Apparently the NVME connector is shit for the (expensive) case I got and the issue was simply unstable I/O.
Finally had enough and upgraded to a lenovo thinkcentre mini.
Finally up and running again, everything is stable and I can once again rely on my own node for onchain and lightning transactions and that feeling is just epic.
