I think it’s an apt description. The cars didn’t make life better for those children. Objectively speaking, all of those children’s lives were probably made worse because of them. The cars made it easier for the very rich to quickly bypass the very poor without having to justify why they deserved it. A.I. lets the rich not feel guilty for bypassing workers in the same way.

astute observer, they all had a place at one time. They didn’t fit, making them stay in another place they don’t fit won’t turn out different. Rehabbing an apartment downtown is great since they are next to all the services and all together, for the people servicing them. It’s not if they want to get away from people. Find out what they want and why they didn’t fit in the last place. Then start a plan going forward with only that information.

the only thing that is going to save us is to stop using so much energy. When we found out we could get stored energy from wood we stripped the planet damn near bare. When we found out fat could be burned we hunted and killed all the whales because they had the most. We found coal so we stripped off the soil and dig up as much as we could to burn, same with oil. We will use more than the sun can produce, and sooner than you’d think.

unless I’m mistaken, there are no military applications for 60% either. It’s hypocritical for any country with nukes to say others can’t have them anyway. We aren’t getting rid of ours for the same reason they want them. If they are wrong for wanting them we are wrong for keeping them.

MLK preached about a peaceful protest. Years and years he proclaimed it, all the whole while being suppressed. The truth is it never would have worked, he could still be alive but he wouldn’t have ever made a peaceful change. The only reason it worked is because of his violent end, that violence is what finally worked. The question now is have we had enough violence for them to change or will more be needed to rein in greed?

it’s not that most people don’t take it seriously because it’s science fiction, most people don’t take it seriously because it doesn’t effect us. “Most people” don’t ever launch anything into space, many never get to see true dark skies, most don’t have the time to watch the skies even if they could just look up. This is a 1% caused problem that can only be solved by the 1%
