There are similar services but they're all infested with AI. If that doesn't bother you, Kobo or PublishDrive are an option. For me, Smashwords is the most important marketplace because it's friendly towards erotica and kink, and I don't want a chatbot reurgitating my texts, so I guess I don't have anywhere to go.

I'm a biologist. When the palaeo fad started, I was curious and looked into it a little. Turns out that a) there's no way to eat what our hunter gatherer ancestors ate because it literally doesn't exist any more and b) human diet is incredibly adaptable and there is no "hunter gatherer diet". It depends 100% on what's available. If plants are readily available, it will be plant-based. If there's a lot of fish & sea food, that's what they ate.

I've had this discussion about "separating art from the artist" with my sister, who likes HP. As a writer, this notion to separate art from artist is ludicrous to me. There is so much of me and my world view in my writing and I'm not even trying. Of course works by questionable creators can be entertaining. But even if it were my favourite book series, funding this hate crusade is something I just can't imagine myself doing.

The conflation of the two occurred in antiquity but became more widespread during the Renaissance, which is why Father Time wields the harvesting scythe of Kronos in modern iconography. Eurybaros gave orders that he himself should be led to the cave instead of Alkyneus. As soon as they arrived, he ran in and hauled out Sybaris from her lair, carrying her into the open and hurling her from the crags. Tumbling down, she struck her head and died from the wound. From that rock sprang a fountain and the locals call it Sybaris.
The story recorded by Antoninus Liberalis in his Metamorphoses ends here but I like to imagine a happy ending for Eurybaros and Alkyoneus. 💕
