What's funny is 10-15 years ago all the articles were "How this young couple bought their dream house by age 25!" And then listed all the corners they were cutting with groceries or lattes or whatever.
But the ACTUAL secret four or five paragraphs in would always be a throwaway line about how their family member (usually parents) let them stay in the spare room, wing, or house while they saved money. AND helped them with the mortgage, car payments, child care, or health insurance.

I've been trying to make batches of foods on the weekend because my week work days are long and I just can't cook (or do anything tbh) after work at 8 or 9 pm.
Ran out of time over the weekend and didn't get everything cooked that I planned, trying to catch up now before the heaviest days. I have several items fridged now and can throw on a slow-cooker spaghetti at lunch one day.

I had some leftover chicken I needed to use up so I made two batches of tamales, one with barbecue chicken and beans, and one with curry chicken and lentil rice.
The barbecue batch is getting good reviews so far. Essentially barbecue chicken and beans in cornbread.

There's a big discussion started elsewhere about how people "used to" navigate using paper maps. And people used to know routes and names of roads.
But my Rand McNally U.S. road atlas is alive and well (and a few folding maps).
I do miss when the road where my Grandma lived was still named Rural Route 1! All those paper letters I wrote out and mailed there...

I'm always having to fill out paperwork for people's disability accommodations for work. Which I hate, because it's unpaid, laborious, arbitrary, and it takes me a lot longer than most. I don't blame my clients, I blame the corporate gatekeeping crap they're going through.
But recently, a new thing: people are getting (modest) accommodations denied. Several just in the past week! I've never seen this happen before. WTF is going wrong with this world!! 😠
