A big chunk of code commits is currently done by Collabora developers, but not all, and there are many other things in a project (like QA, translations, documentation, design etc.) which are done by hundreds of people also outside of Collabora. And TDF is taking on new developers. So don't worry, LibreOffice will not only be developed further, but a lot of work is being done, even outside of the ecosystem!

Well yes, Linux distros usually include the Gtk/Qt integration too, so the old-looking VCL interface should hardly ever come up. That's why there's no need to update it. But yes, there is an argument that when the desktop integration package is missing, LibreOffice should alert the user (while showing the old-looking VCL interface).

Yes, the documentation needs improving. As mentioned, it's made by volunteers (like so many things in the LibreOffice project) and without knowing who told you it is "perfect" it's hard to fix the situation. Of course it is! It's a great solution for businesses and large organisations, and we strongly recommend it for anyone who needs long-term support and custom features. But we (The Document Foundation) get a lot of requests from users, organisations and others to provide an online version too – at least the core technology of it – and we want to be active in this area as well.

Hi! No, .xlsx isn't part of the Open Document Format, and there is no such thing as the Open Document Foundation. (There is The Document Foundation, the non-profit behind LibreOffice). Microsoft Office/365 does support ODF though – if only they used it by default. Hope that clears it up!

New in #LibreOffice 26.2: When natural sort is enabled in the Sort options dialog, there is an additional option to treat decimal separators as regular characters. This allows sorting IP addresses, for example, even if the locale has a dot as the decimal separator.

It's our new stable branch (in that it won't change, with random new features in 26.2.1, 26.2.2 etc.) It will only receive bug and security fixes. The update checker will recommend it for all users after the first or second point release, but you can always get it directly from the website. Thanks!

We never made a LibreOffice version 9.x, but of course, use what works for you! 😊 Just bear in mind that older versions are unsupported and missing security fixes...
