I grew up during the AIDS era and I remember vividly the campaigns around it, the billions poured into it and the relatives that succumbed to it. Little did I know then that one man was responsible for the propaganda around it, the mistreatment of it using drugs like AZT, and the deaths from it as a result. That man was Dr Anthony Fauci. What he did during hoaxvid was a lite version of what he had done for decades with AIDS. Instead of facing justice, all he gets is a humiliating congressional and gets to walk out a free man. A society that lets monsters like that go unpunished is the definition of hell itself. How many more like him are making decisions that impact your life and the lives of your children?

A lot of people think Nostr is dead because they are so used to centralized social media which is majority noise and less signal. Interpreting less activity as death could be a misunderstanding of the solitude necessary to actually live a productive and fulfilling life away from a screen, or it could really be death! Lol! I agree that not everything needs to be fully decentralized, but at the same time there are very few things that don't benefit from it. The Min of Defence example is one that's interesting as there have been numerous successful armies in history that were partially decentralized. For example the Prussian army would give it's commanders the goal and timeframe for a military operation and leave it up to the commander to decide the how. This worked to Germany's advantage in the Franco-Prussian war as well as even later in WWI and WWII. Napoleon and the Mongols also had similar structures and tactics.
The best case I can think of so far for centralization perhaps is a company, particularly those that deal with closely guarded trade secrets and the like.
