Last Notes npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Lorex is good. Can do local storage. If you want notifications, streaming, live... Well, they all send data to the borg (pick any nation). If you want all that and no Borg... You'd have to get a very expensive custom setup. Private, Functional and Reliable, or Affordable: pick 2. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Awfully bold of you to assume the gender of a subie driver. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Whatever you do... But absolutely incompetent shit. With such a vast country and only 40M people it's too much effort to be profitable to control. Canadians who think the US is the answer are ignorant. https://reason.com/2026/08/27/getting-rid-of-flock-isnt-enough-to-solve-americas-surveillance-problem/ npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim All these people whinging about 40T debt... That's only 31T in 2020 dollars!🤣 Which is only 4T more than what it was with all that covid money, war money, and grifting sloshing around! You gotta look at REAL numbers, not some silly nominal numbers. Yeesh. Get a grip people!😂 (Oh, shit, it's 12x the amount of debt since 1971... Well, we've had a lot to deal with, ok? I don't think they'll like my answers at all. For example; they ask how I identify and then go on and on with all sorts of niches (immigrant, 2SLGBT, BIPOC, and more) . The Canadian Bitcoin Conference was cancelled this year. They blame the bear market. I blame the roster of suitcoiners. Oopsy daisy. I mean, you could host a meetup throwback to earlier days and have more value than what they were planning this year. But what do I know? I never really got the gist of any of these conferences but to either: A) be boastful, throw party, B) meet other influencers to cross post relevance, C) shill projects, D) shill derivatives, E) pump up the hopium, F) shill the parasitic class who cash in on shilling hopium I mean, the whole thing is rather silly. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim You have NO idea. https://youtu.be/tUeibkZykGs npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim I know who I'm rooting for at the Honda Indy! https://blossom.primal.net/eef39b3ae3275b0657eeabbd133aba233af332f511088a5ed5263eb3cfcce765.jpg npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim What's going on with the weather? How are all these systems coming from the Midwest? I was in Columbus Monday and it was nuts. I'm in Indianapolis today and it's just nuts. I even got an emergency alert for flash floods. These systems are small, compact, and very strong. Lightning, hail, and heavy rain. None of which should be developing out of the Midwest. Who fucked with the code? npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim This father of two publicly declared in his 50th year that he has gone full DILLIGAF. DILLIGAF? I do. And my wife and kids know I do. But only so far as it comes to their wellbeing. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Carney and thus Canada paid a toll or Trump to get the Gordie Howe Bridge open. The deal is exactly as it was PLUS 50% split on revenues for 15 years to be managed by the US federal govt. For a bridge the US paid nothing for. Jokes on the US... There hardly any revenue right now. This is me going over the bridge the other night (me and then later I saw two more going the other way): https://blossom.primal.net/7f230cca1245d26b14db0e8e32eb100efe622c874770225d93ea64f3cb64fae4.jpg npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Not sad for finishing (with the wife) the two bottles of wine but remembering the delicious food that went alongside them. https://blossom.primal.net/376613d06b0fa37460a7263e6bf0863076f8efd325247b8484a807041ae59320.jpg npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim "I’d layer in plenty of useful NPCs and bots to create even more noise." - says the guy who put a voice to @nprofile…ad8w's book "The Stolgard Incident" and is probably right this is what's happening. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim The engineers are competent. The designers are competent. The committees are what kill everything. Source: really good, long time friends of over 30 years in both OEM suppliers and customer brands. Example: designers get muted at the brand. Engineers get muted at the OEM suppliers. Also the bean counters are not just cutting costs where they can in the face of failing fiat but also finding new ways to generate revenue from user info. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Did they really make a sequel to the Japanese live action GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka)... Ugh. I don't feel nostalgia. I feel old. Same actors. Continuing the story of a manga published in the 90s. It's like... So unnecessary. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Nah. Not even close. That would look more like "One Hamilton Man and twelve Brampton Men charged in unsophisticated coordinated theft ring. Diploma Mill college was found selling fake Internet connected coldcards where seeds were generated by international student Brampton Men callcentre." 😂 npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Oh! So that's how they knew where Maduro was. 😂 npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim I went 6 solid innings then Len came in strutting like Jeff Hoffman and served up a gimme. I don't know what goes on behind the scenes but I think Joey was threatening a trade to just hang with Ben if he lost one more week. 😂 npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Yeah... Unfortunately no man is an island and we rely on so many making the right, honorable, decision for us everyday. See the later Arch Linux issue, or recall just a month ago lettuce causing "explorers diarrhea" or "the science" shutting down the world. That's why this stings. It was a poor decision, caused by self interest, and the danger can't from "one of us". npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Here's what I did: Used the seed words in sparrow. Created new wallets in sparrow. Transferred all funds Updated my Mk4 firmware. Wiped it. Generated new seeds with dice (that's as far as I'll disclose here publicly) Imported to Mk4 as an airgapped signing device. Moved coins back under it's signing authority... But, really, with the seedphrase it's all redundant so that's where the real security has always had to be placed. The risk was the old RNG for device created seeds. I was guilty of originally using that DESPITE all advisory not to (including by Coinkite on their website). Self custody isn't easy. It shouldn't be easy. When you elect to take personal responsibility every outsourced security detail is a weakness in the system (I don't care if it's a SentrySafe, shlage lock, nest cam, ring doorbell, not getting your wheels retorqued after seasonal change, etc). Those who give up security for convenience deserve neither. Looking at you Keystone (with no seedphrase? WTF!?). I haven't played with too many other wallets but to watch reviews and there are few I'd consider a valid replacement feature wise. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim The wild and wacky theories I see out there. C'mon! "This was an exit/retirement scam" - so that's why it was weak entropy on Mk3 but later Mk4+ got slightly harder? No. It was simply a very bad decision. And one that was overlooked by other auditors. "@NVK is an ass who treated his competitors badly" - you mean like almost any business leader? You mean like Steve Jobs (treated everyone, including his family, badly and was famous for the line "Good artists copy. Great artists steal." Also "You're holding it wrong." (iPhone4 signal issues). "@NVK didn't want me to talk about competing products when he was sponsoring my show". No shit. If you're gonna take money from one vendor you do so allying yourself with that vendor. Ain't no sponsorship in ANY media space in the world gonna want you to do that. "This was all caused by NVK wanting to change licenses." - ok, that true in theory but the result was from poor execution. They iterated on others work to the point that a competitor launched iterating on their work without compensation and with threat to the business model. Passport Core was very cool. To protect the business they did what they had to do while maintaining the spirit of peer reviewability. "They tried to block and slander seedsigner". So? Seedsigner is cool. If you like it, use it. I like security elements and seedsigner doesn't have them. I don't want to run on Pi. That's why I don't have one. But seedsigner has lots of adherents and plenty of marketing material out there. It's a lot cheaper and perfect for many around the world. What NVK did or did not do with seedsigner is none of my business. They exist. They grow. He didn't shut them down. "NVK hasn't spoken in days during this!" You're all out with pitchforks. The moment to get out in front of this has passed. It's been terrible crisis management (aside from @nprofile…9a5l). It's not just the company and business that's crumbling but his life, friends, relationships, and reputation. Leaders lead and he has created the new image of lost. I hope he finds his way back. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Tell me where I'm wrong: I still love my CC. I'm not going to replace it till it dies. I wish I had a couple of Qs (though I always had reservations about using batteries in it). There are features and functions that haven't been copied elsewhere (like Teleport). At this point I don't think there's a single more scrutinized wallet out there and everyone is just pissed about really bad behavior. When setup properly there is nothing currently more secure or reliable in my limited experience. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim I'm not a big fan when Google says "hey, here's an alternative route that takes 53mins longer and has tolls!" Yeah, it's giving me options but ultimately I'm the captain of my ship. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim We need more signal. Less noise. This is signal. Is it signal most would have understood then as they do now? No. But it's the kind of pure content that plainly and effectively (also quite empathetically) explains what is important and why. Maybe if we added some brainrot sidescreen we could get this to spread? npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim But there is a clear market for it. You don't get Lloyds partnership without bringing in clients. I find it antithetical but what do I know? Coinbase is insured for "commercial crime" but only for a portion. Imagine if MSTR's holdings or so many of the ETFs holdings had been swiped! Then again, maybe if you swipe billions you make real enemies. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Anchorwatch already does this and insures it. They are backed by Lloyds of London to insure it. Requirements, however, of minimum 250k USD (4ish coins at time of post). Costs about 1%. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Truck took some damage from all the rain in NY, NJ, and PA. My coolant system cracked hose connectors. Sucks... But at least I can photograph interesting things while it's being repaired. https://blossom.primal.net/c91c28d02cc8be3da615c33017186c641398d96fad460ccb8dc16dfadf6a30fd.jpg npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim @nprofile…vysa @nprofile…22gk @nprofile…9a5l what's this news of you all destroying inventory? I get it, they have old vulnerable firmware. First thing we do with any tech is upgrade firmware to latest version. So... If you're gonna destroy them... And write them off... Any chance I could score a couple of Qs marked for death? Love my MK4 but would really love some of the advantages the Q has on top of it. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim I wonder how many wallets are actually created by trusting the RNG of affected coldcards. We don't know how many were sold. We don't know how many were affected RNG seeds migrated up to new hardware so even by the numbers sold it really could come down to MK3 users. We don't know how many seeds from those cards were generated for maybe multiple people (family members). We do know that many who had these affected cards were not impacted as they dice rolled, ie did not trust. It will be interesting to see where this all lands. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Ok... Here's what I surpassed today: https://blossom.primal.net/891c4be3b776457a8f05dcbba0a8da6a2bb41de56753da0655d0d14a09bed8fc.jpg npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim @nprofile…8g7w is highly active on... X. It's where some folks go for engagement/enragement. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Toyota, since 2019, has not once apologized for the design flaw that leads to their vehicles being stolen. It's a CANbus injection attack. They have rolled out a fix "if you ask for it". They were made aware in 2022 and it took until 2023 for them to "fix it". The CANbus injection is where theives hook into a port behind a headlight and disable all security, unlock the doors, and can drive off. Additionally, Toyota dealers often install Bluetooth "security" modules that are easily hacked and the cars then stolen. No apologies given. On top of all that they've had cloud data, including vehicle and customer info, stolen right off their systems. Schlage locks, often considered best in the business and protecting homes all across north America, had a vulnerability discovered that rendered them useless and easily bypassed. SentrySafe, the most popular brand of safes for the home or office, have been hacked and cracked repeatedly. The most common crack was a solenoid magnet attack that rendered them useless in under 5 seconds. Apple produced a phone where that highly touted, snotty, egomaniacal leader you all loved, Steve Jobs, told you it didn't work because "you're holding it wrong". Ford produced a car that exploded on rear impact. Boeing produced a plane with new tech that made pilots nervous, didn't educate anyone well enough, and had two major crashes killing 346 people. My point in this? Building things are hard. We place trust in every decision we make and most of what that entails is trust in people making decisions for us. Mistakes happen. Insurance can only go so far to rectify the situation and one can never fully regain trust in society or the promises made by those you did business with. If you have something of value trust a thief is going to try an take it. I don't care what measure of security you think you have. I hope Coinkite recovers. I hope they learned from all this. They still produce some of the best hardware in the business with some very innovative features. I don't care about the noise. I care about the signal. In saying that, it's not to disparage any of the other contributors in the space, many of whom are their competitors who really stepped up during this moment. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Down south? Nice. Better than the rainy trip I took today of endless weekender returning hell through NYC to Long Island. My family's sats are safe and they're gonna get harder to get. This was a lesson to all. Joey talked about it on Friday's live. He said it was low entropy when he initially set up. Didn't give more details than that. Since that time he hardened his security. Len? Well... You know Len. He's as paranoid and old school as they come. I learn a lot from him on that front. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim They dropped a live Friday night I listened to while working. Nice! Imma be posting mine later today. 270k miles from a milestone. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Getting tired of the toxicity. Loving the positive takes. It's about 20:1 between the two. Some positives I've seen: Mark Jeftovic on going forward after disaster: Thomas Edison lost his factory to fire at age 67 "We'll begin rebuilding tomorrow." A random Bitcoiner who lost everything to exchanges in the past "you realize money didn't buy you happiness and you redouble your efforts coming out stronger. It hurts for a bit but you will get over it." NASA after the Challenger (despite warnings and known issues) disaster: "Challenger represented a moment in American history that required self-reflection, a time to not only commit to doing better, but to actually see it through. and it proved the right way to react to such tragedies with care, with courage, and with a continued desire to explore the great unknown." Emotions are high and the dogpiling on everyone is just so very wrong. It seems those that didn't like certain people in the space are finding greater ammo to come at them. No one is perfect and that only becomes so abundantly clear when they stumble over ignorance. Then again what's the old adage in the ₿ ethos? Oh, yeah, slay your heroes. Many heroes have been slain this past few days. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Honey butter is awesome! Game changer! npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Asking the real questions! And answer is: none, yet. They've been moved to the creative exploiter's (that's wokespeak for "thief") wallet but we've yet to see more moves. Plot twist: the AI agent created the wallet and the logs for the keys were wiped without sharing meaning they're now lost. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Imagine, in the midst of chaos, you (now) four were a "Breaking News"; a day of sunshine in the storm. That's how I'm gonna recall it. Really, did we not just watch the maddest scramble of people being forced to redo their setups and transact more than they likely ever have? UTXOs got cleaned up, too! There's always a silver lining. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim You know what's crazier? Morocco is performing dramatically better economically than Canada. So, hey America! You may wanna tighten your borders with those nutters. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim The defense was actually following coinkite's recommendation to dice roll. Trusting an RNG, any RNG, is akin to trusting your seed with an engraver who promises they wiped the memory after use (maybe they did but it could still be recoverable). The defense is that too many bought the influencers' ad read without learning truly what they were doing (how many times do you see "my coins are on that card"?) and the damage in understanding is widespread as it's a "wallet" and not called by it's true nature "signing device". These are expensive lessons for those that lost but you better believe it hardened their "don't trust, verify" nature. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim He has. He even did one last night where in the rush to get info out and in the heat of panic he was misreading one of the words. He's also done dice rolling vids and a wide variety of transferring to new device vids (which is basically the same thing as transferring, wiping, updating firmware, and staring with a fresh device). npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim So weird to see so many blaming the CC and looking for a new device where they'll just practice the same poor security hygiene. My advice to one panicked soul: Don't waste money on a new device. There's nothing wrong with using whatever CC model as a signer The issue was in trusting the RNG to create the seed. Move your coins to a Sparrow wallet(s). Create first. Test receive. Delete. Recover. Test send back. Full move. Wipe CC. Update with new firmware. Roll dice (don't trust RNGs anywhere on any device). Add 6-8 word passphrase. Import seed. Test receieve. Delete. Recover. Test send. Move back. Use the CC as the air gapped signing device it was meant to be. Takes about 2hrs depending on the mempool and you can be rolling dice while waiting for test sends/receives. Bonus: you get to practice UTXO hygiene at the same time! (Which you've probably been ignoring for too long). npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim @nprofile…pcm0 posted up on X that he had created a site for the panicking plebs: ismyseedsafe.com Now, before anyone jumps to conclusions, it's completely safe to visit. I tested it. It's so very, very, very much designed for people on X and you'll get a good laugh (or at least a smirk) out of it. No, it's not a Rickroll but somewhat along those lines. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Are you able to see how much is in them? How much the largest is? I assume you wouldn't post such without having some concern that someone has some amount of concern... npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim The thing is they didn't "try their best". They stopped at the ad reads and the purchase. They chose antithetical trust and convenience despite multiple advisories from all to roll dice (including coinkite themselves, Ben in his tutorials, and a ton of others). And it's primarily newer influencers over the last cycle that really pushed this trust (Isa and Nat, primarily, as they focused on their journey and the economics). The cyberpunk ethos was overshadowed in algos leaving many less informed. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Nah, you need to remember the 4th tenet (nod to Orwell): "Auditing is a Security Risk" npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim You don't strike me as someone who trusted a RNG. As you posted earlier few on NOSTR learned a lesson they didn't already know. Now those on X? Yeesh... They're crying and promoting lawsuits and grifting... Without understanding the lesson at the root of it all. I mean, if coinkite (and ANY hardware provider) is guilty it's of including the convenience (at the cost of security) of seed generation. Despite their own warnings to users that such required the antithetical trust. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Then you're placing trust in the interpretation code of the lamps. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Just don't Google "dice" or you'll get those sponsored ads with "loaded dice". Buy direct from manufacturer. No Amazon dice. No ebay dice. You don't want dice that have been used and possibly tampered with. 😂 npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Coming soon to every vlog: "this episode is sponsored by dice" npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim I will say this about the cold card issue... And this is likely the last thing I'll say on it: I recognize that I allowed a trust to use it to generate my seeds. That's antithetical. I'll be rolling my own (which is what coinkite always advised) when I can. It's still a secure device for air gapped signing and I'll be importing the new, self generated, seed. I see no reason to buy a new device for what was an RNG issue for seeds it can create. Plus it still has all the other features. (And the Q is still sexy with what it can do like Key Teleport). Also, I'll be putting a lot more of what I've learned from ArmantheParman has shared over the years. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim But can you trust the interpretation of those lamps? npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Kinda surprised to see the mempool not going harder. Yeah, fees have 4x-5x from 1sat/ to 5 sat/ but still... Either a lot are still unaware or despite the chatter the affected holders are smaller in number. I wonder how many Mk3 (and 4, 5, Q) are in the wild and how many wallets they generated keys for. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Can't wait for the CRA to come at me... What ₿? <Sniffle/tear> I lost it all in a coldcards vulnerability and AI attack by the damn Chinese open models! npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim That's a lot of 🌽. You'd be, at most, 1/35k. So here's what I'd do: 1) flip 100 into cash. Yeah, yeah, argue all you want but I'm not gonna live to see "hyperbitcoinization" or "Valhalla". That money is going into dividend payers to generate $60k/month. I'm gonna live a good life with the wife. 2) timelock chunks of 100btc 25/50/75/100 years. 3) keep the other100 for just in case and ultimately inheritance. Kids/Grans/greatGrans will inherit along the way. 4) "Lost it all in a coldcards vulnerability" will be the family motto. Aside: this definitely coulda been but I ignored it all back in 2012. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim It's really frustrating to see some people (ok I admit it, on X and Reddit) have NO idea what a signing device/seed generator is and seem to actually think their ₿ resides on their device. It's like they watched some videos and got hit with enough ad reads to buy a device they don't even understand and stopped right there in their knowledge path. I guess this is the part where I say "we're so early" npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim So... We're supposed to have our coldcards/signing devices on us, within reach, all the time and not in another country? Just in case a vulnerability is discovered? Damn the $5 wrench attack! npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim But you've yet to implement the Opti Taco feeder. It's been years since that was proposed. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Drove past Tysons Corners yesterday. One has to wonder, how many offices do you really need? The whole operation could be run on a laptop and a webcam. Oh, the software side? Sell it. Hasn't Saylor said "there is no second best" and wondered what he would instead invest Bitcoin profits in? Yeah... I never bought his shtick but I admired his hustle. https://blossom.primal.net/18e18c0c793a70030875742ea811e6498076f83801fc6a3a2d7d70229bbfd31a.jpg npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Unfortunately our daily lives are really just navigating the waters filled with the cheaters and stealers. My daily is avoiding wrecks by people who can't drive (run lights, swerving in lanes while on phones, don't have license and/or insurance), brokers who lie, unions that fight for more breaks than actual work, govt agents who slack (at the border, the customs office, other agencies like CFIA, the IT dept that can't keep the system running, the ministry that fails to negotiate contacts with CBSA, etc), the restaurant worker that didn't practice safe food handling and gave me food poisoning... Oh, man, I could go on. But where's the fun in a utopia where everyone works smart and does what an enlightened society expects? (Oh, I lived in Japan for 4 years and that's as close as I got to it but with such a rules based society I dare you to even try to customize your food order!) npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim The exact same argument the UBI promoters push. I'm not saying they have the solution. They don't. But they say the exact same thing. #nevent1q…45uq npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Fuck that fat fuck! npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim Or... And hear me out... We just get rid of all govts altogether globally. I know, I know. Song as old as time. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim iPhone user? npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim I feel like crap... And a car passed me with a kid about 9 years old sitting unbuckled, backwards... She, yes, she looks at me and does the airhorn arm pump with a smile. But I feel like crap from whatever stomach issue and poor sleep. I'm too slow to blow my horn. I watch them drive away, little pre-pubesent hand out the window now giving me the finger. npub1thljewtf8rgskx8y2w5lgddtydzu7nqx6mvhwp96du8sf6s8a43qr4zcux Willheim No matter what kind of day you're having (this is day 2 of some mild food poisoning and "mild" still sucks)...
