The issue is these things aren't just scanning plates. The vehicle unique identifiers (bumper stickers, roof racks, that ding you never got fixed), any bluetooth/WiFi/radio emission(some models), vehicle occupants, and even audio, are all captured and stored.
Hiding your plate is not stopping most of that.

My issue is most ranchers that sell direct also charge much much higher prices than store bought. So not only are they making the cut they would make AND getting the middlemans cut, but then they are charging double the store price.
I know unregulated ranchers dont get subsidies and such, but at a certain point the economics of it just make it impossible to buy from them. To most people all this woo woo stuff goes out the door when you have to pay 2x-4x the grocery store price.
My goal is to change that, at least for my community, over the next 5-10 years.
