yeah thats probably the best setup today. the problem is the ux around getting there still isn’t obvious especially for new users. client + signer + nwc + wallet is a lot of mental overhead before zapping starts to feel seamless.

we center so much of nostr around zaps because they’re one of its strongest value props, yet the experience is unbelievably fragmented across clients. you can switch clients but you rarely keep the same seamless zapping setup. in practice, every client wants to become its own little wallet ecosystem and wants to create its own monopoly, which makes portability much worse than it should be.

in probably 15-20 yrs, instead of the biggest divisions being politics or even religion, there may really be just two camps: those who want to enhance and redesign the human body and those who want to preserve it. politicians, leaders, movements, even entire cultures could eventually organize themselves around that single question: how far should we be willing to change what it means to be human.

imo there will also be a fork in human evolution. group 1 will want to become superhuman. taller, smarter, stronger, more attractive and able to live much longer. and eventually they’ll get what they want. group 2 will be the traditionalists. they’ll want to preserve the natural human form and experience as much as possible. over time these two paths will diverge so much that they almost become separate branches of humanity.

we go back to creating things that are deeply human. building incredible beautifully crafted architecture instead of soulless minimalist boxes. writing new masterpieces that could rival beethoven, creating the next picassos, etc.. basically shifting human energy from survival and repetitive work back towards creativity and craftsmanship. and hopefully bitcoin plays a major role in making that kind of world possible again.

when electricity was first introduced, its impact on the economy wasn’t very visible or significant for about 40 yrs. factories basically replaced steam engines with electric motors while keeping the same old infra. real exponential acceleration only came when they started tearing everything down and rebuilding factories around electricity from the ground up. we’re seeing something very similar with ai. and it could continue for another 10 yrs or so. we’re creating this incredible technology and then doing what? handing it to humans to use within the same old systems. real deflation won’t arrive until the economy itself is rewired around ai with less and less human involvement.

everyone keeps trying to predict bitcoin’s price like we have no historical reference. we actually do.
look at star island in miami beach. it’s a tiny man-made island with only about 30 waterfront homes. for over a century it’s been one of the scarcest pieces of real estate in the world.
as more wealth was created, more of it flowed into the same limited supply of homes. star island didn’t just keep up with inflation. it absorbed an increasing share of global wealth because supply never changed.
a few examples…
- 1999: rosie o’donnell bought a waterfront home for $6.75m.
- 2003: she sold it for $16.5m.
- 2009: shaq’s waterfront estate sold for $16m during the financial crisis.
- 2025: that same estate sold again for $120m.
bitcoin shares the same core characteristic:
- absolute scarcity.
- fixed supply.
- impossible to dilute.
no analogy is perfect but star island is one of the closest historical analogs we have to bitcoin. when a truly scarce asset becomes a global store of wealth, history shows us what can happen over the long term.

i’m giving it about 3 yrs before local intelligence becomes the norm. within 36 months, relying on a frontier model provider for intelligence will feel like going to an internet cafe just to use the internet. hardware companies including apple will ship devices with built-in options that let you choose your preferred local open model out of the box. and here’s the kicker. bitcoin will be integrated into all of these models with a spending wallet. you’ll talk directly to your local shopping agent without a mouse or keyboard interface and it’ll order your amazon, book your flights, pay your bills, etc.. we’re moving towards ultimate human freedom. it’s not super fast and most of the time it’s very painful for the first gen ai civilization but we’re gettin’ there.

i hate saying this but bitcoin’s current self custody mechanics are probably the biggest reason of slow adoption. not because bitcoin’s architecture is fundamentally too complex for self custody but because we as devs have done a pretty lousy job improving the ux for regular users. say you rolled the dice 256 times, got the bits and entered them into a hardware wallet. what makes you think the firmware is actually going to respect those bits and generate the key from that exact entropy? if there’s a bug there too, it could just ignore your input and generate its own entropy instead. if you self custody, keep this in mind and don’t rely on a single key, even if you rolled your own dice.

i give this soft fork 2 days max before it falls apart. the only thing that really matters here is being extra careful if you try to dump the forked shitcoin after the chain split. if you don’t know exactly what you’re doing, you can lose all your real btc. read calle’s post. don’t get greedy chasing a few bucks and end up losing your entire stack. never ever enter your private key anywhere to claim a shitcoin.
