CEO was presenting at an all employee town hall. He had a huge screen behind him showing the top 5 questions from employees. The company uses a polling system that, let’s just say, isn’t top of the line software. I asked several questions anonymously about #bitcoin but they were receiving no upvotes. As usual, DEI questions were getting hundreds of upvotes. Long story short, my questions miraculously showed up in the top 5 right behind him and in front of an in-person and online audience of around 50,000 people.
He was visibly distracted as they appeared in the screen. Almost like he couldn’t believe it. It seemed as if he had seen a ghost hahah.
Questions were;
1) When are we adding #bitcoin to the balance sheet
2) When will they allow engineers to access MSTR or ETFs with our 401Ks
Anyway, he was probably hoping that the backroom would remove them, but again, not a great polling system. So the questions miraculously kept showing up. Might have been a glitch... Eventually he went on to do Q&A with the audience and ignored them.
But he saw them. And the audience saw them. And everyone saw that he saw them and he didn’t answer them.
That’s what we call a check.

I used to own physical gold prior to understanding #bitcoin. But I sold every single gold coin as I realized:
1) Money is a winner-take-all; the best money wins, all others lose
2) Gold has other use cases, which is actually not a good feature for money
3) Gold’s supply is variable, and tech could and possibly will exacerbate it
And most importantly!
4) In practice, it is actually not portable, divisible or recognizable. Of course you can carry it from point A to point B. But in the world we leave in, there is a myriad of barriers and threats between A and B that realistically impair gold’s portability. And if you want to divide it or verify it, realistically you will have a hard time to do so.
Never mind the risk involved in having your wealth physically available. Once you realize the power of multi-jurisdiction multi-sig, you cannot unsee it. Gold is just a rock.

My old 401K is still being held away from #bitcoin against my will by my company’s custodian. I cannot buy the ETFs since, according to the plan board, it’s too risky. No MSTR allowed either. The board masters said no individual stocks allowed. Only pre-selected rent-seeking trad Fi mutual funds can be chosen. I cannot even withdraw it (even if I assumed the penalty). I’m probably not the only one.
All this to say, the flood gates have only partially opened.

I completely agree. But what would stop someone from claiming that coins that are moved from a monitored address aren’t theirs anymore due to prior physical transfer? Maybe I’m late to this realization, but wouldn’t the capacity to transfer bitcoin physically (created by coinkite products such as satscards) deem on-chain transactions useless as a reliable method to record spending for tax purposes. In other words, unless the receiving address is known (which would automatically identify the transaction type), there is no longer a way to affirm with certainty that moving coins from an address one may initially have owned means that the initial owner is subject to the consequences which that transaction may entail.

If you gift someone a loaded SATSCARD, how does the government expect this action to be declared on a tax return if there is no record of the moment you hand it over to the new bearer (which would be the moment you are spending it)? This is indeed a great set up. It will serve as a good reality check. Because once 4 years go by and all remains mostly as is, more people will realize how useless voting truly is (and that it always comes down to a manipulative politician dangling the latest carrot to blackmail you into voting through fear and/or emotion). We’ll need several of these until voter turnout crashes. Sure, a couple promises might be kept, a couple of headlines for the believers so they can say “see he is working on it”… but nothing truly groundbreaking. In another 4 years, we’ll still have most people thinking that the next time will work because this time “insert excuse,” but little by little more will see that kneeling didn’t work. All along, it just meant accepting their rigged game, which keeps the machine that put Ross in jail going, and in turn, may keep punishing others in the future just like it did with him. Don’t get me wrong, I say they are irrelevant regarding my quality of life in a particular jurisdiction. They of course are relevant in the impact they create in their jurisdiction over a long period of time. But whether we like it or not, they will do whatever their power allows them to do. Until that power is capped (bitcoin may do this), your vote is just an illusion for you to think you’re involved in the decision making. This is why I have learned that one cannot get attached to a specific location, as in time, that attachment will be used against me by those in power. If you put yours and your family’s wellbeing as your priority, then you simply can ignore what politicians do until it bothers you, in which case you simply move and leave the problem behind. There is always a place coming up as one is going down. It is in this way I see them as irrelevant. Unfortunately humans cannot have nice things for long, and when a society figures out a great status quo, overtime, that society will take it down. There is much precedent about the cycles of civilizations. Once, the best place to be at was Athens, and Rome, and London... And it will keep changing.

I don’t believe to be above or below politicians. I would describe my relationship with them as distant. I just realized they are irrelevant if you make the right choices. I live my life in a way that serves me, and I don’t wait for another human to improve my life. Whenever I wanted change or didn’t agree with something, I simply left and moved somewhere better. I’ve lived in many countries; each time I moved, my life improved significantly. Leaving really is the ultimate voting hack. The beauty of the world is that you don’t need politicians to change things for you; there are always places where the changes you seek already took place. You do, however, have to be comfortable with change, and most people aren’t. In my case, I do pay some taxes, and I happily do so because they aren’t illogically high. Those who pay half their income in taxes should probably evaluate their situation. I would understand why voting then becomes so critical to their lives.

For the first time in a long time, the young have no incentive to care, protect, or fight for their countries and their communities. In fact, their incentive is to do as little as possible and to leave. The US and most Western countries are fucked, actually.
If or when the times comes;
What are they going to fight for? Their countries’ values? Which values? Whose values? Last they checked, there isn’t much of a consensus on this (by design). And regardless of whose values are considered to be “right,” it doesn’t seem like any of them are working for them right now anyway.
Their homes? Whose homes? The ones they can never hope to own because of the current system.
Their families? Whose families? The ones they don’t have because they cannot afford them or were told aren’t worth having.
Their land? Whose land? The one the government ignores in favor of foreign lands.
Their property? Which property? Their debt? Because that’s all they will ever own given the circumstances.
Food for thought. #Bitcoin may be a solution, but until most realize this, the direction things are going in is not good.

When I watched season 1 of Rings of Power I decided to overlook the overwhelming ideological propaganda because I really like the Lord of the Rings (shouldn’t have). However, after the first episode of season 2, I decided to stop watching it for good. In this case, the reason is pretty absurd, but real. I cannot literally see what’s happening. Meaning, the screen is almost black during entire scenes, where you can only hear but not see anything (even with TV brightness settings at max). This is a failed production, in my opinion. I regret giving them the benefit of the doubt by watching season 1, and I regret overlooking the values of those behind the production.

If you can’t use YOUR money when you want to, IT ISN’T YOURS. Fuck 59 and a half, and all of their rules and penalties. Why would you give them the power to penalize you for your use of YOUR savings? Why would you let them tell you when or how to use YOUR savings? Just like with all things fiat, the "match" is the little carrot they put in front of you to lead you down a path they control. They tell you a flashy story about how capital gains are tax-free, and you play the game with them by being happy about it. If that weren't enough, they categorize your savings as income whenever you withdraw them, and they tax you AGAIN on those dollars (putting to question whether the match cancels out at the end of the day). I can’t stand the Ramsey people telling Americans that lifestyle inflation is to blame for their ‘paycheck to paycheck’ situation. May be the case for a few, but for most it’s the fact that they cannot out-earn the real inflation that results from the Fed and the fractional reserve banking Ponzi. They’ve been steering their listeners into getting their savings diluted in the stock market, locking up taxed dollars meant for savings in state instruments that consider withdrawals as income, and taxing them again on the way out. I would challenge the phrase “my wife is unlikely to let me…” Do you have to ask for permission? If you have full responsibility for your household, then you must have the authority. If you are not a bum, at most, you may share responsibility, in which case agreement over permission may be a more appropriate model. Regardless, my suggestion is you help her understand what you see with examples (houses getting cheaper in sats, retirement happening sooner, cost opportunity of thinking long term, etc). Remember you once were blind too. Look back, what background did you have that lead you to understanding the key elements? Maybe she’s missing some basic concepts you assume she knows. I will say, life is even better once your wife finally gets it. It also helps if she’s ride or die type, because she starts by jumping in it with you just because she trusts you. Then your job is to help her see there was never any risk.

#Bitcoin eliminates the incentive to own your house under regimes that impose property tax today. The wealth-building aspect of paying towards equity is inferior to saving in #bitcoin (this is a fact). Plus, renting removes liability, caps costs, and provides flexibility. Even with a fully paid-for house, property tax (rent paid to the government), maintenance costs, and insurance will add up to about the same as rent for a similar place. And since most people move every 7 years on average, the cost of buying and selling will inevitably suppress further your wealth growth (and that is assuming you buy and sell at the right time). The best strategy for the current time is to let the transition take place. Once we are past the peak fiat era, buying a house at utility value with low to no property tax will become the norm. Local governments will look at people as assets for the local economy and will compete to attract residents. Now owners are just cash cows handcuffed to their piggy bank sitting on government property. Not a great proposition.

How I went from #Bitcoin enthusiast to toxic #Bitcoin maximalist.
Primarily anger, strong, unforgiving anger.
Anger for being told by boomers not to eat avocado toast while they sit in their million-dollar houses, bought for a decent price with money they stole from our generation, which we are currently paying back in the form of diminished purchasing power and lower quality of everything.
Anger for working longer and harder every fucking year, yet getting less and less overtime.
Anger for having to be exceptional, just to acquire the same things our predecessors got for being average.
Alongside came the frustration too.
As a man, being responsible for giving my family the best life I could possibly give them came with pressure. This pressure turned into frustration when I realized that no matter how good I was, the system outpaced me by stealing faster than I could grow ahead of it.
Guilt.
Guilt that I wasn’t giving my wife what her father easily gave her mother.
Guilt that I couldn’t even keep up with what currently was on the table because somehow, overtime there was less, no matter how much I pushed.
As a man, I always knew to take ownership and blame only myself for the negative outcomes of my life. This is why I went above and beyond every time. I left my country, I made it to the US, I made it to the Ivy League, I competed against everyone and everything, and I was successful when measured by every traditional metric. Yet, the average boomer seemed to have historically done way better while doing nothing special.
I actually then realized that the average boomer is actually quite weak, both physically and mentally. Which made sense given the good old saying that states ‘weak men create bad times’.
I also realized I’m not lazy. I’m not a rent-seeker, I’m a builder, an engineer; I’m not afraid to do hard things and compete. I have never aimed to do my best; I’ve aimed to do whatever it takes. I realized I could benefit from a system with rules and no rulers that requires value for value, honesty, and integrity. So I embraced Bitcoin.
I’m no longer angry. I’m not frustrated any more. I don’t feel any guilt. I finally understood what was going on so I adjusted accordingly. I’m at peace now. I will plant trees the shade of which I’ll never lie under, but I will be among the ones within my generation to turn the trend around, and that is a great purpose. Fiat times will be studied in the future, and people will wonder how this was even possible. This is what most haters of Bitcoin don’t get (mainly older generations). Those of us who think like this, we’re not selling, and we’re buying, and we’ll keep buying for as long as monopoly paper can be exchanged for real money, motivated by everything mentioned above. And I will never jump ship because the alternative I already tried and I didn’t like it. It’s enslavement and misery. Because I’d rather go all the way down for the right cause than cowardly jump into becoming a slave to the system again. And I will buy all the fucking supply if the price ever dares go low enough, as will all those who like me understand.

Most people think that a 2008-type of crash will take place one day. With home values in USD going down suddenly. They don’t realize that the housing market is crashing if you measure prices in sats. In other words, it’s crushing upwards measured in USD right now, and it has been for a while. The end of the crash will happen when the exponential increase in USD prices reaches a point where people will no longer accept any amount of USD for their home as payment. In other words, home prices will have then crashed upwards in USD so much, that the USD needed to pay will technically not exist. People will demand a different form of payment, and #bitcoin will be it.

The user interface clearly outlines the keys needed to initiate a transaction, which should help in proving you cannot move funds without traveling to the locations these keys may be kept at (like a vault or a safe deposit box). It also has an emergency lockdown feature that would lock you out for a set amount of time, and even if you have to provide your access details, Nunchuck will clearly state access is temporary unavailable. Even if somehow someone got a hold of one of the keys, the platform key has customizable policies like wait time periods prior to broadcast, etc. These guys have truly thought about wrench attack scenarios. Most people think decoys or hidden wallets with passphrases will fly. And in some cases it may, but this assumes an attacker trusts your word and that you truly don’t have any more funds. With Nunchuk, you can be transparent, both about your funds, and your inability to truly access them. Plus, providing an attacker with some decoy funds and hoping that’s good enough solves nothing. What makes you think he won’t try again down the line. Multisig, multivendor, multijurisdictional and geographically distributed keys is the only way. Nunchuk provides the best tool in the market for this, imo. A last word of advice may be, you may want to create proof that the keys are truly outside of your access. Hopefully in the future Nunchuk can provide a feature that helps with this, but in the meantime, you may want to have strong evidence that you don’t have them, so that no one spends more time than needed at your home.
