I moved my family to Portugal in 2022. It’s the hardest thing we’ve ever done. But there’s not a day that goes by that we aren’t confident it was the right move. And we love our life here even though it’s challenging (Dutch is almost certainly more difficult than Portuguese especially if you know Spanish but it’s the hardest of all the Latin languages and as someone who never spoke a second language and who came here at 40 it’s not easy mode).
That said immigrants have strained the Portuguese system. We’re not the only reason prices have gone up and people can’t afford to live - but we’re part of it. And I struggle with that reality internally every day.

I continue to be blown away by all the features and functionality of recent @npub1rk6…hv4q releases. Document creation an editing is worlds better, Collectives are super handy and work exactly as you'd expect them to, and talk has built in video conferencing that just works. Honestly surprised at how functional and convenient and nice everything is. It's come a long way since its early days. Honestly, if I can run stable personal projects on this for a few more months I might switch business productivity over.
The only issue I had was that I had to switch to beta builds for the AIO containers because they wouldn't deploy for some reason. Maybe a bug in the version I started with a few months back.

Still can't locate who shared this on my timeline but it's a great, short documentary on life in Portugal before the revolution. No English subtitles but I managed to catch a good deal of it, and even if you just look at the footage it's not hard to figure things out. Worth a watch.

I think U.S. military intervention is part of what’s led us to this crazy climate but man what I wouldn’t give to watch the U.S. army absolutely wreck this mother fucker’s entire country and bring every deported person back. I am seething, and all I want is for these thugs to feel fear and pain.
