In A Cypherpunk's Manifesto, Erik Hughes wrote "Privacy is the power to selectively reveal oneself to the world."
If I reveal a Monero address I do not selectively reveal it to the world. I must always reveal my monero address to the world. What are the second order effects of this?

Now we're back to a tribalistic, closed society. This is just the nerds fighting. If a cop finds your phone with a monero address the cop will assume you sell crack, not buy pecan butter.
A lightning address looks like an email address. It does not reveal what chain where my UTXO's exist. There are exceptions, but most people outside of the NSA don't know how to exploit those exceptions.
My preferred UTXO chain is not revealed. Maybe I am a stable coin accepting idiot, but you'll never know.

This makes me want to write my own article about stablecoins now.
Basically, #bitcoin is the invisible hand Adam Smith wrote about.
Stablecoins are the debasement Adam Smith wrote about(visible hand).
I don't think the invisible hand is about markets. It's about the money behind the markets.
Most people will prefer the government stamp of approval stablecoins represent, the visible hand.
People who are aware of the correlation between money printing and hyperinflation will choose bitcoin. That's just not many people. We just need to accept that. I don't like it. I kind of feel sorry for people who trust the government(regardless of which team is in power) but that's out of my control.

The thing is you can just accept stablecoins with a lightning address. The national debt was a huge reason I got into Bitcoin, but some people seem to think this is a good thing. Don't ask me why.

I don't think adding any on-chain addresses is conducive to an open society.
The lightning network offers privacy. An XMR address, Bitcoin address, stablecoin address, etc. is not private in my opinion.
You could use liquid to hide your stablecoin balance and I'm not claiming that anyone can track monero.
An XMR address signals that you accept monero.
A stable coin address signals that you accept stable coins.
A lightning address is like an email address.
You can theoretically accept monero with a lightning address.
You can use https://breez.technology/glow to accept stable coins.
The difference is nobody needs to know you're a USD stablecoin maxi if your zaps get atomically swapped to electronic fiat.
Adding on chain addresses signals that you accept monero or whatever. That causes tribalism, mystical thinking, arguing, and a closed society.

This is what I don't understand about billionaire worship.
Most billionaires are billionaires because the government gave them permission to sell paper.

What type of addresses do Anchor watch use? Native Segwit, Taproot, etc?
Is KYC info encrypted?

I've been writing a think boi article comparing bitcoin/sats to physical, metal coins.
My thesis is that the year stamped on physical coins is a time-stamp designed to verify a certain quantity of metal at a certain time.
The Bitcoin network is a time-stamp server that stamps electronic coins approximately every 10 minutes, but it verifies ownership via digital signatures instead of a quantity of metal.
I don't think Bitcoin is energy. Sure it requires energy to stamp stuff, but we don't say nickels are energy because mints use electricity. We don't say nickels are energy because E=mc². Bitcoin is an electronic coin as Satoshi described.
