I just finished "The Square and The Tower" by Niall Ferguson. It is a great book, thanks for the recommendation @nprofile…hs8c !
I think many bitcoiners (and even just NOSTR proponents) would do themselves a great justice reading this book. It proves, through history, the importance of organized networks of individuals to combat the insatiable control of tyrannical government structures. If bitcoin (and NOSTR) are to be successful movements for human freedom, we must not focus on our differences, but rather coalesce around the common goal. People conveniently forget that Jack is not the reason for censorship on Twitter. He legitimately went on JRE and told Rogan he’d love to have another convo with Vijaya Gadde (then-head of legal, policy, and trust and safety at Twitter) present. Rogan made this happen & the episode was (more or less) a debate between Tim Pool and Gadde.
People like to drag Jack because he was CEO at the time of said censorship. Truth is, he was busy building Sqaure/Block. He was also trying to build a new social media network. Realizing the mistakes he made with Twitter, he created bluesky and ultimately ended up supporting fiatjaf with NOSTR.
In fact, time and resources are limited. Jack was extremely happy Elon took Twitter off his mind/hands.
Fun fact: Jack is the only person in history who simultaneously served as CEO of two S&P 500 companies. (Let’s ask ourselves why he wanted out of Twitter in late 2021)

That's fair. At the end of the day, all companies who interface with legacy finance world are just tools for bitcoiners to build & grow their "true" bitcoin companies.
I view companies like CashApp & Square as the reeaaalllll long trojan horse. Truly necessary in the grand scheme of hyper-bitcoinization. Without Block Inc. & its subsidiaries, Chester has to use other financial rails closer to the money printer than Jack & Co.
Appreciate your perspective on the situation tho. We need to keep these companies honest

I hope you didn't close you cashapp account in haste. Normally there is some nuance to this & also I've seen that the account for Chester has already been reinstated.
If you think about it logically, Block started using AI to reduce human capital expenditure. This looks like automated process that obviously makes mistakes. It just took Chester using the bitcoin community to get a human to override the mistake. Bitcoiners have this wild tendency to grant no grace/leeway to bitcoin companies. I get it, but it sure as heck makes the whole industry look bad in the end

I like my Hershel ‘little America’ dual strap. It’s got a padded pocket for your laptop. It does age/wear pretty easily but after 12 years, it’s still holding up well after daily use in various conditions.

You're missing the point of my post. I am not criticizing the homeless. They are the truly free of society. A homeless individual is free of time, distraction and other things that 'normal' humans in society stress over. Bots have the same level of freedom in the digital realm. Even if you don't like them, you can just mute or ignore them (or as it looks like you're doing, ironically using an AI bot to point them out). Sorry to hear you're going through this. As someone who has battled Psoriasis for over 8 years, I've tried everything. Eating actual food (eggs, fruit, steak etc.), walking in the sun and also intermittent fasting has been the only things that helped my flare ups. Of course corticosteriods are a last resort for short term relief. I hope you find what works for you. Sending positive energy your way Eliza

I like the ability to transfer satscards. Like if there are high on chain fees (of course this hasnt been the case for years now lol), you can give someone the satscard for instant settlement. You also don't have to have the recipient download additional software to use. Great for gifting

Bitcoin the “asset” will be like AI tokens determining how a user (private key controller) can interface (API) with the eternal data chain. The more signal (quality inputs) you provide, the more tokens you can control with your priv/pubkey pair. No human “owns” the inputs/outputs, just like no human “owns” the internet

Had an idea pop into my head on Friday which I've been ruminating on the whole weekend. It's a trivial ideal, yet a gargantuan task for humans to plan & execute. The idea came because I have a bunch of gift cards for places that are not near me any longer or have balances too small for me to warrant buying anything from that designated merchant. I started thinking about, what happens if a merchant goes out of business. What happens to those funds?
TL;DR - Break the boundaries of gift cards; Use ANY gift card the way YOU want to; Disrupt the norm
I could try and build a business around it, then pitch it to Block Inc., in an attempt to get acquired. This would take too long and would take too much human capital to develop (as I only have slight payments experience & very limited software developing skills). It would also assume that I want to profit from this idea, which is not the case. I believe strongly that open source is the way #opensourcedideas #opensourceeverything
