I had been happily(ish) using Samsung Reminder app. Lots of individual bulleted task lists, date & (partially) priority sortable, with tick boxes and notifications (if I want them), with optional (colour coded 😄) folders.
Then Samsung updated it so their folders (which I don't use) are allover the page when I open it, I cant delete them and they don't go away (only minimise a bit) 😡 I can manage but the last thing my adhd needs is more clutter!
(I don't have them showing in my diary)

I think this really sums up why we have such great news this morning. It's not about Labour or Reform's failures, it's about Green success. Green members getting the message out there in person. The might and power of (often corript) mainstreamand social media, backed by big money, was overcome by real people, who really care, spreading the message of HOPE

Its the NHS allover again, lack of joined up process and thinking. Rather than adding in more "assessment" break points, there needs to be a joined up approach where it is easier to transfer knowledge and experience of accommodations. An awareness that early support actually makes for better outcomes, way down the line, is lacking. If they are so hell bent on saving money this should be a no brainer!

my #autistic son has just started Uni (amazing achievement!). He's doing OK, but I am SO TIRED. The hoops we have had to jump through at every transition... and we have been extremely lucky with excellent High School and 6th form college SEND provision. How he would have managed without me as a stubborn (and self employed, so flexible) advocate I do not know.

fascinating & well worth the long read. Education has deteriorated to fact ingestion and regurgitation. Unfortunately HE is becoming an extension of this spoon feeding. Has this approach contributed to the unquestioning acceptance of media "truths"? We are taught that we only need to know and not think. When choosing my son's high school the noisy classrooms full of argument & discussion won out over the school where quiet pupils sat copying notes - we were lucky to have that choice

this drives me insane. When will someone in gov/politis acknowledge that increased spending in one area of health (eg care or diagnostics) will undoubtedly free up spending in other areas (eg in patient care) and ultimately result in a less bottle necks at first point of contact (AE/GP). The internal market is what is killing the NHS not just lack of funds. None of the budget holders see the bigger picture they're just fighting for their own pittance

T levels are academic qualifications for vocational subjects. The A level exam structure remains and many who enrol, expecting a practical project based assessment process, drop out because of this. BTecs remain the best vocational qualification. They must not be lost as they offer the only true option for non-academic qualifications

well of course they are biased. They have been trained on existing, human generated, data which is inherently biased. AI as it currently stands perpetuates the status quo (or more worrying recent history). The true technological challenge is to develop AI which identifies and corrects bias - to rise above human failure. But that is too difficult and will take too long to produce the £££s so is unlikely to happen

a few years ago I was persuaded to move some of my retirement fund from its standard savings account to "investments". I'm still waiting for it to make up the losses.
Way back, I worked for a US company and joined the employee share save scheme. This small part of my retirement fund has grown steadily over the past 20 years but recently lost nearly 30% of it value.
Retirement at 60 is now a pipe dream.
I've had my education and it sucks

independents who have been kicked out of Labour have done well (see my post). I too am grieving (Derbyshire). We've never had anything but Conservative councillors here, didnt even get to vote one year as there wer no other candidates. The Greens talk sense but nobody gets to hear them as MSM panders to Farage

a fundamental problem with the NHS is the "internal market" Priority is given to managing individual budgets with not overarching understanding of where spending from one budget can result in significant savings in another (eg diagnostics to guide care, social care to free up beds) Cooperative management is be no bad thing. However we have ended up with competative business management.
