Rust 1.97.1 has been released.
This release fixes a miscompilation in an LLVM optimization. This newly discovered issue has existed since 1.87.0, but was unlikely to lead to an actual miscompilation until a change in 1.97.0.

This point release includes a fix for a miscompilation in a MIR optimization, a fix for http timeouts in Cargo, and patches the recent vulnerabilities in libssh2 which is used as part of Cargo.

The crates.io team was notified of two malicious crates (with similar names as legitimate crates) which were actively searching file contents for Etherum private keys, Solana private keys, and arbitrary byte arrays for exfiltration. The malicious crates have been removed.
