I noticed that in Southeast Asian countries, it is easy to start organizations. Everybody wants to join the community. The challenge is how to sustain them, as they often lack capital. In other countries, it is easier to earn money but more difficult to form communities.
Southeast Asians should recognize the strength of their culture, which lies in community. Start from there, and then find creative ways to monetize to keep it going.

Oh so many Gen Zs have no idea how 9/11 reshaped the whole world, or how to connect the current terrible chain of events to that terrorist attack. The shift to a new age really started after the collapse of Soviet Union and the 9/11 incident. I'm a Zillenial and watched 9/11 as a kid and everyone was non-stop talking about it. The younger Gen Z must take time to analyze and understand this history.

Fortunately, it was only temporary. Democracy was restored and now in "peace", I was able to get back to my studies and decided to pursue computer science and neuroscience. Science was (is) very expensive for me to pursue under authoritarianism. We had very little support.
It turned out the Russian Disinformation campaign started in the Philippines in 2012. Both Duterte and Trump were elected presidents in the same year 2016.

It took a toll on my mental health and caused me to perform at school very poorly, so I moved to a different school and repeated senior highschool twice.
Never have I ever dreamed of joining academia because I thought the political crisis in my country wouldn't end and thought I'll just be an artist.

Critics of the government were called terrorists. (Even Taylor Swift called for the Junk Anti-Terror Bill.)
I was in highschool when we had the authoritarian Duterte as our leader. I participated in protests as an artist for human rights.
We had things worse: Duterte declared Martial Law, and implemented War on Drugs which resulted in many unjust extrajudicial killings. A relative and acquaintances of mine were victims.
We also had bomb threats in school campuses.

Professors and student protestors were "red tagged" as communists. Soldiers confiscated books from libraries they called subversive. Vandalism of libraries.

I've been arguing for years, since the pandemic that the invasion of the West has already started, and not just through physical war. Misogyny, anti-intellectualism—all hallmarks of Ur-fascism were present. It's too late; Trump and Elon have Kremlin talking points.
What we can do is adapt and prepare for the approaching multipolar world, whatever it is. There will be numerous problems, but we will see new types of progress. There will be a revolution in everything. Goodluck to everyone.

You can criticize academia for its imperfect system. You can criticize specific academics because of their views. You can criticize academics despite their expertise and credentials. However, a strong disdain for intellectuals and the arts will always be indicative of fascism.

I noticed that necktie 👔 for male academics, and neckscarf and pearl necklace 🦪 for female academics are now disappearing.
I think Gen X started this no-necktie suit. Only boomers still wear striped neckties. Pins for women have disappeared too.

I find it crazy that other countries need to be rich to build artificial islands. Here in the Philippines, we get new islands for free. All we need are volcanoes. 😂 When I was in gradeschool, we had 7107 islands, and now we have 7,600+ islands and counting! It still blows my mind that there are thousands of islands that are not occupied in the Philippines.
