Been digging into Nostr retention stats from https://stats.andotherstuff.org/
Nostr cohorts look like this:
- Week 1 retention: ~5–10% 
- By Week 4: ~0–3%
This pretty much states that hardly anyone stays around....
For reference: a16z’s benchmarks for consumer social networks say:
- “OK” apps: 40%+ Week 1, 20%+ Week 4 
- “Great” apps: 75% Week 1, 50%+ Week 4
So yes, our retention is objectively bad right now — and that’s the point of this post. How can we improve retention?
If we want to make this thing work every nostr app/developer needs to obsess over those retention cohorts

- displaying who you're following/have muted throughout the site

I know it's not the best answer, but i've given up on NIP-07. The extensions are all limiting or in some cases broken. No mobile support, etc...
Switch to remote signers! It's a one click install with signet https://github.com/Letdown2491/signet/tree/main and much better experience!

Don't think this exists, but based on those requirements i would recommend taking a at vibe-coding it. Doesn't feel that hard as it's just generating/signing/broadcasting an event for every person in a spreadsheet.

Improved UX and fixed a ton of bugs when it comes to signing in on https://asknostr.site. Unfortunately i had to reset local storage so you need to sign in again...
Support for: extension (NIP07), remote signer (NIP46) and nsec/private key.
+ you can sign in with multiple accounts and switch between them if you want to boost your own rankings or something 🧐

I feel you. But move on to what?
I do Nostr and Reddit and stay away from rage-bait/click-bait social networks.
My approach is to keep making the experience better so ultimatly other interest groups join Nostr. If that means in the end i will be disappointed so be it. At least i tried.

Turns out the zap leaderboard on https://asknostr.site/leaderboard/zappers was entirely wrong.
I was using the pubkey of the ZapReceipt (kind9735) instead of the `p` and `P` tags.
Fixed now :)

I know i'm trying to debug someone that complained that NWC (over @nprofile…htls) isn't working. It's probably a code bug on my side but just can't seem to figure it out.
