I got my first C64 about 15 years ago. It was a great machine with a huge library of software.
The problem with having a collection of working vintage computers is also having a collection of spare parts and donor machines to keep them running. Nowadays you can even get modern replacements for the SID (sound) chip if that fails in the C64, although fans will argue about how well the modern versions can replicate the original combined analogue/digital chip.

AFAIK water absorbs infra-red so well that you'd feel the heat and get away well before it damaged your retina. Obviously IR lasers are a different thing, as with all lasers. Don't mess with lasers, kids.

The data for each frame of a Lemming walking is currently 8 by 10 by 2 bits. The average width is 5 so that could save 60 bytes, but the starting x position and width of each would need to be added costing 3 bytes. Only 2 frames are 10 high with the rest 9 high, so we could save 3.75 bytes and cost 1
The decoding algorithm would be longer and take more space. Then there's the code for animating it. Not sure that will fit into a toot limited to 512 characters including the hashtag and the CW.

I struggled in Phnom Penh when it was 42C+ and too humid for me. As long as there's some airflow I can cope with the hottest days here. Just having a small fan running makes a huge difference. My fault for being too well insulated.

In my experience people with aircon love to cool the place to 18C in summer after they spent the winter heating it to 25C. They also stop bothering with other passive cooling methods like keeping curtains shut, ventilating buildings at night, etc.
It ain't great for the planet and the greens are against it. I didn't realise it was seen as a right wing thing which is why it's unpopular in France with only 7% of homes having it.

When dialing in the adjusters I slackened the handbrake cable off a lot. Put both drums/discs back on, then used a screwdriver through the bolt hole to rotate the spline on the adjuster until they bound then backed off a couple of clicks. Then adjusted the handbrake cable.
I don't know if that's the best procedure but the handbrake has never held so well, even a year later. Next MOT due in 3 weeks.

Erm, yes.
And if the shoes are closer to the drum at the end where the fixed spacer is/was then you also get more mechanical advantage from the input at the handbrake expander end as the first point of contact will be further away from the input. If that makes sense. I know they should slide back/forward and it shouldn't make a difference but it seems to.

I did use aftermarket pads and they've been fine but a lot of people report trouble with them. Genuine pads grip better and last longer according to the interwebs.

I'll find the link. Easy to fit if you've got strong fingers. It's worth getting all the rust off the inside of the drums too, then wipe with brake cleaner, or similar.
If you want to guarantee getting it through, as you're taking it apart far enough to fit the adjusters, then slap on some new disk/drums, pads too. But if they're in good condition then the adjusters should help.
AFAziK there might be two sizes of adjuster but these were right for a 2001 V70 II.

Last time I flew with RyanAir was many years ago. I swore never to fly with them again. 17 hours from what should have been our departure time until we arrived at Stanstead, by coach. After massive delays, scant communication, no food, they flew us to Bournemouth where we sat on the runway for hours. They moved us straight to the coach with no toilets and the driver refused to stop at a service station until the passengers staged a revolution and threatened to piss and shit on the floor.

I tried this on a real photo I just took and the lines don't converge on the same point.
Lens distortion and inaccuracies in buildings mean ideasised perspective lines don't always match what you'll see in photos. Anyone who's ever tiled a room will attest to how crooked walls, floors and ceilings really are.

I've got a Marcy SM-4000 combination smith machine, pec dec, high pully, blahbblah, with catch hooks at the front. It's not ideal for squats but a lot safer than not having it. Squat rack would be better. I picked it up very cheap during the great post-pandemic home gym sell off.

Plug in solar isn't even legal yet. That's why the regs were updated with regards to labelling of bidirectional safety devices. It's an acquired taste but I love the stuff. They were apparently selling 750,000 pots a year back in 2000 and careful management after a sale of the brand meant that plumeted below 40,000.

Yeah, I noticed it still seemed to be available there. I make my own orange marmalade but did buy Roses Lime one, albeit infrequently. So I didn't help either.
I managed to snag the last two pots of Patum Peperium in the region yesterday.
Someone just bought 2x 71g pots for £104 on ebay. 😂

Before Bear Grills and Ray Mears there was Lofty Wiseman. This is from Lofty's "SAS Survival Handbook."
"WORMS: Contain the highest class of protein with a large proportion of essential amino acids and are easily collected. Starve them for a day before you eat them or squeeze them between the fingers to clear muck out of them. Worms can be sun- or force-dried, one easy method is to leave them to dry on a hot stone, and then ground into a powder to add to other food as required."

Apparently they make quite good survival protein if you allow time for them to purge themselves. Some people have compared dried worms to bacon. Afaik there aren't any poisonous worms but don't trust that without verifying. 🪱🪱

Thank you. When it first releases steam I turn down the gas so some steam escape as the weight moves but it doesn't jump up like that. So you leave the gas higher and count how many times it does a big pressure release? 👍
I searched youtube for a video about counting whistles but most were in Hindi and my vocabulary is very basic. One in English was titled: "Don't damaal your house 🔥 Learn how to use a pressure cooker from the best." 😂😂

Yes. Last year I built a greenhouse for the chillis and sweet peppers but still planted them out a bit late this year. I grow corriander, lemongrass, thai basil, some other herbs and some cucumbers in there too.
