A beautiful day dawning outside and I think we’ll all be in a better frame of mind today! My sister and I went for a walk after dinner last night and it seems lovely. We ran into multiple groups of people dancing with cymbals and drums and carrying shrines (?) that shopkeepers and householders were bring out offerings to. Fedizens…..I know how much we like a poll here. I have 23 days between when one accomodation ends and my €100 a week accommodation starts. I can extend that one at the other end but cannot start it earlier. I think the best solution is to have a funky adventure in a non shengen zone, cheaper country as Portugal at that time is super expensive and house sitting very few and far between. So…..Lumbini. If I’m honest, none of us are fans. To be specific, we are big fans of the fabulous, exceedingly friendly and curious about where we are from local people. Not fans of the massive opulence in the Buddhist complex amongst so much extreme poverty all around it and Not fans of the big hotel, glad we are in local and home stay type situations after this. All the staff are delightful except the reception ruler who is um, not. Btw, this is my ‘garden view’ 🤣 We’ve actually decided we dislike it so much, we’re going to eat the cost of two rooms for one night each and move on to the home stay in Tansen. #AdventuresOfCass #Lumbini

Well, from the drilling sounds, it seems like the people in the flat across from me have barricaded themselves in a lot more successfully than they did when the police came to evict them and arrest the man for B&E last week. They broke a window downstairs a few weeks ago so their friends could continue to access the flat without keys to the building. Quite frankly, we’re all pretty shit scared, it’s a majority of single women who live in this building and when the police came, they sent four burly male police officers. We’ve warned strata multiple times but nobody seems to take it seriously 🤷‍♀️

I’m laying on the couch feeling sorry for myself and watching Great British Menu because it’s all my brain can handle. There’s another amazing plant based chef on this series. His food is phenomenal and hopefully this time the judges can look past their ‘a fish course must have fish / seafood’ and ‘can you really have a vegetarian main at a banquet’ prejudices when it comes to deciding who wins a course. I am not a vegetarian (yet) or a vegan (yet) but I do believe that it’s the way more of the world needs to move.
