2. Of course just because it's East West oriented does not mean you are doomed . Sometimes the streets aligned at some degree off, and you have to also look at the building arrangement on the street too. Worst case is you walk in very remote area and that would be unavoidable, but most people live in a city with something casting shadows. Street trees are super helpful. Just looking for crack due it's root on sidewalk sometimes.

1. Not every streets are equally hot, and I can somewhat "guess" based on the map if they are hotter than the other by its direction. Usually the one with North East orientations is more shaded due to what people in the field called street canyon. Small streets especially with one building is closed to another is very cool.
