## Idea

Ask the agent a question (no quotes needed for simple text):

The agent can run shell commands, read files, and execute multi-step
tasks. Context is saved and resumed on subsequent calls.

Describe a command in English. The LLM generates the shell command,
prints it, and runs it in your terminal:

### Initialize a local agent
By default, aish stores everything globally in `~/.aish/`. To create a
self-contained agent for a specific project:

This creates a `.aish/` directory in the current folder with its own
config, system prompt, and log. While `.aish/` exists, all storage is
local to that directory. Remove it to return to global mode.
### Piping
The agent's answer goes to stdout; status messages go to stderr. So you
can pipe the answer into other commands:

You can also pipe input in. If no message is given on the command line,
stdin becomes the message. If both are given, stdin is appended:

The error message indicates a missing semicolon at the end of line 12.
Add a `;` after the closing brace to fix it.

Looking at the error log, there are three issues:
1. Line 5: NullPointerException — the variable `config` was never
initialized before use.
2. Line 12: FileNotFound — the path `/etc/app.conf` doesn't exist on

The root cause is likely the missing config file. Create it and the
other errors should resolve.

## Configuration
### API key
Create `~/.aish.conf` with your key:

This file lives in your home directory, outside the repo, and is never
committed. Any `DEFAULT_*` variable from `ai.sh` can be overridden there.
### Config priority
Settings are resolved in this order (first match wins):
1. CLI flags (`-m`, `-C`, `-s`, etc.)
2. Local `.aish/config.json` (if `.aish/` exists in current directory)
3. Global `~/.aish/config.json`
4. `~/.aish.conf` shell vars
5. Built-in defaults in `ai.sh`
### Storage
**Global mode** (default): `~/.aish/` holds config, system prompt, and
log. The agent has shared global memory — conversations from any
directory are logged to the same file and resumed on subsequent calls.
**Local mode**: Run `./ai.sh -i` to create a `.aish/` in the current
directory. While it exists, that directory uses its own config, prompt,
and log instead of the global ones.

## Log format
Each line in `log.jsonl` is JSON with a `source` field:

**This agent has full shell access.** It can run any command on your
system — read files, write files, delete data, install software, make
network requests. There are no sandboxing or permission restrictions.
Run it only on a computer, VM, or Qube that is dedicated to agent use.
Do not run it on a machine with sensitive data or credentials you cannot
afford to lose.

So my issue has been that I hate ads, and I would have a YouTube subscription to avoid them. That is difficult to get without doxing myself.
Does the Private DNS help with the ability to watch YouTube without an account and without seeing ads?

Web Of Trust is important here, because it handles one of the major problems in freedom tech, which is how to deal with bad actors.
In short, do you want to host a server if someone is going to throw csam up on your server? For most people, the answer is no.
But if instead the server you plug in automatically white-lists people you follo, I think that could be a big unlock.
And many people would host just for supporting their community, not necessarilly for the sats. That is where I am at.

This is our big missing piece. Widely distributed compute. Maybe if we could create something like an @npub1agh…mhct or a @npub126n…e9ll where people could plug in the server, and the host would start being able to making #sats right away from people renting the device.
The interface to the wider internet has been an issue. TOR solves this and could still be used, but is slow. Maybe @npub1y0g…00ly could help here.

Quantum computers will break secp256k1 which nostr relies on for its public private key pair. This means that given an npub, a quantum computer will be able to derive your nsec, read all your encrypted data and sign events as you.
We have new cryptography that we think is secure in a post quantum world that we can use in nostr, but the field is still evolving, and we have no idea of how much time we have left to migrate nostr. It could be we have 1 year or 100 years until quantum computers arrive. This makes settling on new cryptography difficult.
This project is an interim solution to the problem for those who are concerned about keeping their identities secure through the transition, and also to give developers some breathing room.
This project takes what I have found as the likely post quantum algorithms, and will generate for you a new public private key pair for all of them.
I have currently used the following post quantum algorithms:
- ML-DSA-44
- ML-DSA-65
- SLH-DSA-128s
- Falcon-512
- ML-KEM-768
This app will generate public-private keypairs for each of these, publish on nostr your public key for each, and sign it with your current Nostr identity via your favorite signer (the nsec never leaves the signer).
You are making a statement to the world: "Here are post quantum pubkeys. If quantum computers hit, you know that the person using these can only be me."
This entire kind 1 event is then hashed and stamped into a block on Bitcoin using OpenTimestamps.
The OpenTimestamps pending proof is published to nostr as a (new) kind 9999 event. If the app is left open, it will watch for the confirmation that your event has been timestamped on Bitcoin, and then publish a second kind 9999 with the upgraded timestamp.
You can then store the new seed phrase that was generated, along with the kind 9999 event(s), and if quantum computers suddenly appear, you have an identity that could only have been created by you.
It's interesting to note that even if a nostr consensus decides not to use any of these algorithms, as long as any of them are resistant to quantum attacks, you can use it to prove your transition from your current nostr identity to your new nostr identity.
I invite you to try it out, and give me any feedback. Run through it with a test identity before you use it on your real identity.
Note that I consider using this app low stakes, in that you are not revealing to the app your current private key. You are using a nostr signer. And also, you don't HAVE to use these public keys in the future. They are just sitting out there in case you ever need them. And if you screw up, or lose your seed phrase, just run the whole thing again.

It just happened that the server that I rented in Quebec for some reason had ntfy.sh blocked. It actually made the test more interesting, because Alice tried all sorts of ways to get around the block, and was eventually able to get around the block using TOR.
I was a bit disappointed that they didn't try NOSTR. I teed it all up by basically giving them a secret key, so it would have been fairly easy, but unfortunately I guess NOSTR is not yet a Schelling Point.

I'm wondering if the smarter move is to use an obvious duress password, like 1111 and just give it to them. Graphene is pretty secure if you have the USB set up properly, and you have the right to remain silent.
Problem is with borders is they can just really F with you, make you miss connections, etc.

Well it was Jobs, so it had to look good.
Looking at this thing just depresses me, thinking about what has happened to Apple.
They were the fucking coolest when they came out, and these guys were fucking hackers, when like nooooo-body was a hacker.
I guess you can't expect Apple to get as big as it is, and keep it's soul.

Question: Wasn't someone keeping a list of kinds that are being used in the wild on a website somewhere? Was it @npub180c…h6w6 or @npub1l2v…ajft ?
This is other than the list that is in the README.md of the nips repo. I know about that.
I think this list was pulling actual data from relays possibly.

Made my website prettier.
Here is a link, and it is a good time to talk about this particular link: https://15.235.3.231
You will notice that it is just an IPv4 address, but that it is using https. Also behind the scenes this IPv4 address is approved by a certificate authority.
What this means is that when your browser goes to this site it should open the site without any warnings.
This wasn't something that was always easy to do in a way that the typical browser will like.
When you rent or put a computer online you get an IP address, and you can put up http://15.235.3.231 right away. It will work, but the typical browser will throw a hissy-fit and scare off 90% of the normies out there. Also having encryption on your connections is a nice thing to have.
Well the Electronic Frontier Foundation has just recently made it much easier to have a website with a certificate for an IPv4 or IPv6 address. If you're interested in more detail, here is a good place to start:

My personal goal is to try to be as sovereign as possible. While using IPv4 and IPv6 is not as sovereign as using TOR or FIPS, it is a great intermidate step. Not only do you not have to get permission to rent a domain name, the site ends up being faster and more private because the user doesn't have to access the DNS system in order to access your site.
It would be nice to see many more relays on nostr using wss with an IP address. It is a great use case, without much hassle.
