When this happened on my site it was the font itself causing the issue. I was using Google Fonts and Google must’ve changed the font file. Switching to a self-hosted version solved it. So this could be something similar, or maybe the browsers have changed how they render it. I can confirm -webkit-text-stroke is also broken with that particular font on Mac OS (but works if you change it to something like Arial).

I’ve been feeling the cultural burnout hard, and struggling with the idea of staying in an industry that is increasingly making me sick to my stomach. Seems possible. Also the fact that capitalism/neoliberalism rewards the ambitious arseholes and actively pits the interests of the individual against the surivival of the whole. The fact they are able to weild such power is yet another problem with inequality

A lot of environmentalists would push back on that, because a large proportion of environmental problems come from the over-consumption of the richest 10% of the world’s population, not the far more numerous poorer population. I’m simplifying the arguments, but blaming over-population can imply that the poorest are to blame with higher birth rates, when in fact they contribute very little to the climate crisis and we should be addressing inequality and over-consumption.

Great to see the Green Web Foundation is reviewing the evidence they accept for green hosting verification.
