😒 Not that I’ve been playing too much anymore, but I’ve had trouble logging in to Pokémon GO, coinciding with the recent Google cert problem and my recent changing of my Gmail password. Not sure if I’ll be able to login, as the system claims I have no account associated with my Gmail. Contacted customer support. We’ll see. Annoyed because I have lots of shinies I would’ve liked to transfer out.

To be clear, there’s a lot of dumb “computer stuff” they do that doesn’t make sense, like a mainframe connection being setup at a computer trade show, but the ability to mislead via system information changes online, and stuff like the social engineering Devlin used is still solid.

I started a few years ago with a Google Doc and posting my daily highlights, lowlights, and meh-lights, mainly so I could remember what happened and refer back later. Eventually I turned the practice into analog journaling in a notebook when I started collecting fountain pens and inks. I really wanted memory keeping and a tangible memento of life events and random thoughts, as opposed to digital-only assets.

Ultimately I didn't care for this book. Besides a few pockets of intriguing discussion about cryptography, which I could've gotten from a non-fiction book about cryptography, I just wasn't invested in the storylines. And to make it worse, the ending was too vague about Epiphyte and what all would happen next.
I'm all for open-ended stories that allow readers to imagine what happens next, but this wasn't constructed in a satisfying way for me. 🤷‍♀️… (1/2)
