As usual, the first day of Christmas is starting with decarbonated Coke from yesterday and rasols (kind of a salad where potatoes and sausage chopped in cubes are swimming together with canned green peas in mayonnaise). Then finally, I will have time just for myself, as the last few weeks were spent preparing for Christmas Eve.

With all the news from #Mozilla about Firefox’s future as possibly an AI browser, the sad situation is that there are essentially no alternatives. What options do I have as a user? Move to Vivaldi and take part in their losing battle over Manifest V3 with Google? Start using some Firefox fork that’s maintained by one person and doesn’t have a mobile version, even in the EU?
So, it looks like the only option is to disable all the AI functions in Firefox and then later see how things turn out.

It's funny that journalists can't understand the Fediverse and how things work. Instead, they ramble around, looking for the next rake to step on. For example, they create accounts on BlueSky (heh, they complain that there are only a few users on Mastodon—sure, there are zillions on BlueSky 😄)…
