1. The countdown IS the consensus mechanism. That’s what UASF means. Nodes signal. Miners comply or get orphaned. 2017 proved this works.
2. Miniscript wallets need a trivial update — split the branch, ship the patch. “Innocent use affected” ≠ “broken.” Friction for one year is not destruction.
3. False Dilemma. Temporary interventions exist because conditions change. A one-year firebreak while inscription economics are corrected is not a logical commitment to permanent restriction. The auto-expiry is in the spec for exactly this reason.
4. Honest point. But existing wallet software has until ~August 2026 lock-in + two weeks to update. New UTXOs only become an issue if wallets don’t ship the patch. That’s on the wallets, not the protocol.

Bold claim. Wrong direction.
Standards = your node’s relay policy.
Consensus = what makes a valid block.
These are not the same thing. They have never been the same thing. Satoshi built them as separate layers intentionally.
BIP-110 is a standardness change. It requires zero miner consensus. Zero hashrate majority. Nodes simply choose to stop relaying non-monetary data embeddings by default.
This is the Appeal to Complexity fallacy — make it sound technically confusing so nobody questions the status quo that happens to benefit inscription operators and their VC backers.
The white paper called Bitcoin peer-to-peer electronic cash. Not peer-to-peer arbitrary data storage.
Standards exist to protect that purpose. Always have.

Every full node on Earth downloaded that data. Every node stores it. Every miner who included it collected fees for it. The blockchain grew because of it.
If it doesn’t exist on chain, why did fees spike to $50+ during the Ordinals craze? Why did mempool congestion price out Lightning channel opens? Why do nodes require more storage every cycle?
This is Motte and Bailey — retreat to “it’s just a shared delusion!” when the consequences are inconvenient, then claim it’s valuable enough to protect when BIP-110 comes up.
Pick one. Either it exists and pollutes the base layer. Or it doesn’t exist and you’ve been paying miners to store nothing.

Interesting. You’ve confused ‘censorship’ with ‘standards.’
Bitcoin Core ships with standardness rules right now. Always has. The question was never whether to have them — it’s who benefits from the current ones.
Spoiler: not you.
BIP-110 doesn’t censor transactions. It removes the economic subsidy that lets VC-backed inscription spam crowd out monetary use cases — you know, the ones Satoshi actually described in the white paper.
As for the price argument: correlation isn’t causation. That’s Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc — a logical fallacy. “Thing happened after X, therefore X caused it.”
Meanwhile the inscription fee market did cause congestion, wallet delays, and elevated fees that priced out real users.
That part is documented.

First off. We do not encourage people to make BIP 110 their identity. Nor do we endorse making covid vaccines, or even bitcoin an identity either. This is tribalism, and is much worse in core. Core is a literal cult in which selected maintainers were dating John Newbury of Brink, and other devs were chosen based on race and DEI instead of actual merit.
You also included two new fallacies. Let’s go.
Appeal to Fear: “risking a chain split” — BIP-110 is a soft fork. Soft forks are backward compatible. Non-enforcing nodes stay on the same chain. No chain split occurs unless non-enforcing nodes mine invalid blocks. That’s not how soft forks work. SegWit was a soft fork. Taproot was a soft fork. This is not new territory.
Poisoning the Well: knotslies.com is not a neutral technical source. It is named after its conclusion. Citing it as evidence is like citing pepsi.com to prove Coke tastes bad.

Samson Mow and Jimmy Song are well-known Bitcoin personalities who have been dismissive or hostile toward Bitcoin Knots and node sovereignty culture — and now they’re funding a new client? This is the classic move: tear down what exists, then rebuild it under your own brand with donation money.
The Timing Problem
This launches right as BIP-110 gains momentum (the same week BIP110 reached 10%). A new “conservative” client with no code, no GitHub, and no published specs that just happens to want your donations is — at minimum — a distraction. At worst, it’s controlled opposition.
The Structural Problem
