Main differences for me is that S9 uses https and Umbrel refuses to use https.
Umbrel has newer software, S9 takes longer to update (my opinion).
S9 uses long URLs, look like Bitcoin addresses, Umbrel uses servername plus port.
S9 has a server backup but don’t use the 24 word for Lightning. Umbrel has 24 words for Ln but no backup solution for the server…
Just my 2ct and my opinion.
Btw: I am running a S9 at the moment.

A question to Lightning experts. I am running an Umbrel node which connects LN channels via the Tor network.
When looking for new channels to connect to I see a lot of channels which only offer clearnet and no Tor.
Is it possible to connect to those clearnet channel as easy as it is to connect to Tor?
I think I would have to open ports on my firewall to enable LN clearnet connections, right?

Yes it was easy. Just order the parts. Connect camera to raspi, connect display to raspi, copy software image on the card and screw everything together.

This is one way.
Another possibility is to open WoS, goto receive, note down this email like address, open Alby, enter this email like address as target, enter amount and send. So you don’t have to specify the amount upfront…

One question about non custodial Lightning Wallets like #Phoenix.
I understand that with my own seed they can‘t run away with my Lightning funds.
But what happens with my funds when they decide to close the service or will be forced to close? Then I am not better than with a custodial wallet, right (and can’t access my funds like with a custodial wallet)?
