Yeah might be the main reason. Arkade wallet is still great, Noah Arké and the Umbrel Bark wallet are really good also already.
In both implementations the refreshing of the vtxos seems to work well. It’s honestly impressive and give lot’s of hope for the future of bitcoin scaling.
Perfect way of justifying some new opcode / softfork integration (to make all of that even better) rather than the retarded usual arguments “if we don’t do it right now bitcoin is doomed bla-bla-bla”
We just need @npub12rv…85vg and @npub1ake…pfwt to add blind signatures on top of it and we’ll have basically solved unstopable p2p ecash.

Yep. But Spark is a protocol not an entity. And there are ways of making spark private by adding blind signatures on top of it.
So if Cake wanted to give real privacy to their users 1-they will run their own Spark server at least and 2 - at best they would help build that to: https://github.com/buildonspark/sip/issues/2.
Or just use liquid/lightning atomic swap that would be better IMO than using spark.

Hum not completely but a bit I’d say. Also I think they are genuinely convinced that Monero is not a shitcoin and in many ways it isn’t (even if I don’t need it as a bitcoiner personally)
At the end of the day they help to empower people by paving the way of Bitcoin privacy and scalability (even if spark is terrible in the later 😆 ), and I consider those still fooled by shitcoins in 2026 fully responsible.
Let’s see the glass half full with them, they work on bitcoin and overall are not bad actors like Coinbase & Co

Agree but it doesn’t mean that everybody in our family need Bitcoin. Normies don’t need Bitcoin. And our grandmas if they need it somehow can be helped by us, in the same way that we helped them use a computer or a smartphone.

Hum because a zap is a way to show support for a good take or idea or work. Not to pay for a service. The recipient benefit from the gathering off all the micro payments. People could easily zaps hundreds of USD with LN and still they send micro payments.
For nostr market places a silent payment code derived from your npub would be dope though.

Honestly why can't everybody just use Phoenix wallet ? It is really so hard to understand that your lightinng "account" has a deposit limit ?
This wallet does everything, on-chain, ligtning, a seed phrase and it just works.
Bull Bitcoin Wallet or Aqua brings good tradeoffs too.
If not yeah WalletofSatoshi / Blitz wallet / or every Spark wallet or Arkade wallet are still slightly better than purely custofial LN.
Just saw that you are a technical (silent payment is the on-chain zap way indeed) guy so why can't you just run a LN node with a single channel and connect through NWC to any app you want ? It's ....easy.

Honestly who can't run an Umbrel server these days and set up a NWC connection string in 10 seconds ? It's trivial.
Those who can't just use Phoenix. And if again it's to "complicated" just use Spark or Ark.
But I don't really see the value of on-chain zap unless it's done through silent payment for big rewards.
Zaps are micro payments that once gathered make a difference for the recipient. People just want to send 1 cents here 10 cents there, 1 USD over there that's it. They don't want to send 5 USD or more each time. And if they do it will be a nightmare in UTXO managment for the recipient who will have to consilidate and manage his privacy....not good IMO

I was seriously starting to feel dumb not finding how to use Amber on this new version.
Honestly it worked really well for me, no major bugs found.
Could you not continue the work on your client with 2 versions with/without Amber support or is it to much additional work ? This is a must have for me and many others IMO. Like that we'd be able to continue to benefit from the improvement and new features of this great app
