What’s the general opinion on automatically deleting toots older than X days?
The only reason to check what someone wrote 4 years ago I can think of is out of context screenshots for some random drama.
But I also think nothing too meaningful should have its permanent place on a random social media instance.

Time to give OpenCloud a proper shot. I don’t like that the clients need a manual download on macOS, I hope they got update checks.
But the test files made it safely across systems and I can see them plain and simple on the file system of the NAS.

Getting a FastAPI api up and sending a received webhook to my Delta chat contact was an… experience.
Most annoying part was initializing the chat from my phone first and having an event loop solely to fetch messages so the E2E encryption happens properly.
Some of it might have been unnecessary, but there was so much trail an error involved… thread executor pool spun up in the FastAPI lifecycle… I wouldn’t call the result production ready :D

yeah, I have to get the whole notification infrastructure in proper shape anyway. It’s currently a split between pushover and half way migrated to my own local AI assistant.
I’m thinking about something like you step in the living room (presence sensor, time and WiFi AP check) and you get a spoken message that laundry is ready.
I want the whole thing to be more contextual and integrated in our daily routine than a push notification.

I totally admit it’s cool. But I already don’t look at my Grafana dashboards if no alarm goes off, so I doubt I’d ever look at this one.

oh for sure, but considering hamburgers stupid responses about world class security teams I still chuckle at two in a row, one being a USB device name :)
I have never seen a reason to try it. Half of the stuff it installs doesn’t interest me and I used Arch for long enough that a bootstrapped install with Hyperland is half an hour of work.
I simply go with KDE these days except on touchscreens where Gnome is IMHO better. Not as cool looking, but it works :)

So @npub1ama…cwvh wanted to see if there’s a workflow that helps her transfer her designs from Affinity to HTML and CSS as that’s the part she usually struggles with.
I was recommended Dyad. Set it up with OpenRouter for testing before getting her her own 5090 in the rack.
OpenRouter reports Dyad as “AI Harem game”. I guess that answers the question which startup pivoted the hardest in the AI gold rush.

I have my iPhone set to a charging limit of 80% and the sat charge was this morning at 6:30 to 100%.

The washing machine and dryer are in the basement and I’m mostly in my office (1st floor (EU naming)) during the day. Timers are not that reliable.
So there is now one zigbee power outlet for each. When the power consumption changes for a certain time the state of a helper in home assistant is updated.
When one of them is done an action is triggered that calls an api endpoint that triggers a pushover notification.
Could someone reaffirm me that this was the obvious solution? Pretty please?

I just took off my iPhone case to clean it and it reminds me how much I enjoy using the phone without a case. It feels somkuc better.
I wouldn’t walk across ComicCon without a case and I wouldn’t carry it in my trousers waking Triss anymore after the last little slide and fall in rain that gave it a small scratch.

We watched Supergirl last night and it was pretty good. The cut is a little PG13, but I really enjoyed the more grungy style and that she’s not just a goody two shoes.

That's a good point.
I wonder if there will be a shift in perception that could have a negative impact.
If potential sponsors deem a "trusted" platform "untrustworthy" and extrapolate that to the foundation making the claim?
I have a number of clients (certainly not representative as its a far too small number) who migrated off GH due to the availability issues and I know there is no trust at all for the platform.

I was a customer for 15 years and I have to admit I don’t think there’s any IDE news that will bring me back.
Maybe not too little - I still expect exceptional / industry leading work from JetBrains - but certainly too late.
That said, the most important functionality to me always was language support. If I can get that for an editor of my choice… :)

I’d love to drop everything in the stack, but a well formatted RSS feed, redirects I can manage outside the web server and tags / archive / search are a requirement for me.
