I think I figured it out. I want to work less with things where knowing more makes you hate them more. And more with things where knowing more makes you love them more.
If I work with $thing I want to learn more about $thing. And the perspective of disliking $thing more in the future is terrible and demotivating.
Yes, this is about (current) computers and most of tech. I think I really want to quit tech. It's terrible for my soul.

There's one thing that I can somewhat, only a bit, accept as an excuse for talking about NextCloud in particular: It operates on CalDAV Standards and the Tasks part of that ... sucks badly. Like, terrible. I've not been happy with any of CalDAV synced Tasks because not only is support shoddy, but for exactly the reason you give.
However, NextCloud could – as any one of the stakeholders – try to push for something different or find ways to enable this use case better.
Case in point: What do people use for such tasks? Alarms are... hard to manage. Calendar entries are overwhelming. I try paper but I forget too often.

Puh, ich glaube ich muss hierzu Mal was schreiben, auch wenn ich ungern so detailliert zu meiner Arbeit schreibe. Disclosure: Ich war an dem Verkauf beratend beteiligt. Und jetzt wo der Kauf durch ist, darf ich auch drüber reden.

5. Ja, neuer Investor heißt erstmal Unklarheit. Kann auch schlechter werden. Muss aber nicht.
Ich verstehe die Logik nicht, dass das JETZT schlechter werden MUSS. Wie hat Threema denn dann den letzten Investor "überlebt"?!
Und ich möchte gar nicht Threema groß verteidigen oder meine Liebe aussprechen. Aber mich nervt diese stark verkürzte "Argumentation" die einfach nicht haltbar ist.

These two paragraphs struck me in particular:

Because unfortunately Google probably doesn't see that as a problem. Or even as the Fedi winning. For them, longetivity doesn't matter, but peak user count.

This, too, for them is a good thing. No-one else can profit from "their" data.
This just makes it so crystal clear how the big one's interests aren't aligned with ours. Google+ wasn't really failing in their book, it had served its purpose and then ceased to do so. To us, this is loss. To Google this is just business.

If you always need a precise cut off point you’ll never be able to establish any rules, ever. What is the cut-off point for violence?
The answer is this: Social (or legal) rules don’t need to be perfect to serve their purpose. They need cover the current situations. And Jack Dorsey is very much not in line with other speakers here and the no-billionaire rule is very much unambiguous in this case.
There’s nothing nuanced about pretending that those issues don’t exist just because formulating rules is hard.

You can probably get away with setting LoginGraceTime to something lower than 2m (even 0s), which will completely eliminate this attack vector but make you more vulnerable to ssh DoS through session exhaustion. But it's probably the quickest fix to roll out.
