Two points:
-Beans with retained cook water are a much better source of folate than eggs. Liver and dark green leafy vegetables (with retained cook water) are great too, as is laver (nori).
-The use of synthetic folate to reduce neural tube defects is nothing new. In fact, this is the main focus of "prenatal" vitamins in the US. That being said, it is certainly an imperfect solution given how widespread folate metabolic defects are. Methylfolate supplementation is usually better than folic acid, but I've had patients struggle with these in the absence of unmethylated B12 supplements. In sum, there is no one-size-fits-all solution, but folic acid supplementation of flour will certainly result in fewer neural tube defects, and so is a valid public health solution. If an individual cares about their own folate metabolism, though, genetic testing followed by an individualized diet/supplement plan is advisable.

Actually, I always shower in the evening and never drink ice water. I drink hot green tea all summer, and 普洱茶 all winter. The Chinese are correct regarding these things.

Indeed, I'm accustomed to all sorts of fun grammatical constructions and words like 子，乎，者 and 也. My Classical Chinese is much better than my Modern Chinese, since I'm only self-taught in Modern Chinese. Anyway, I tend to read philosophy, poetry, and medical texts, e.g, 莊子，詩經，and 難經, though I've read broadly in other areas. Long-form literature hasn't been my main interest, though, so I've not read the Four Classics in Chinese, and have read only two of them in English (Journey to the West and the Romance of the Three Kingdoms). Have you read much in English?

No, I've never been to China. I earned a Master's degree in Classical Chinese (in the USA) before studying acupuncture. I've known many Chinese people over the years - professors, patients, a girlfriend, to name a few. My impression of the Chinese people is positive.

In general, I think it is important to assess success and failure regularly in the context of short-term manageable goals, and build the larger vision (and benchmarks for success and failure for that vision) based on the practical results of these short-term goals. Each interation - whether a success or failure - provides new information to the process, and helps provide better direction for future goal-setting.
If there is a particular aspect of the project that is a failure consistently, it becomes important to rethink the vision of the project such it incorporates the truth of that repeated failure.
One specific problem which I myself consistently encounter is that over-commitment to a goal leads to excessive self-sacrifice. While I'm generally happy to suffer on the crosses of my ideals, there does come a point when enough is enough...

I think he's implying that the reason we haven't encountered other intelligent life (aliens) is because at a certain threshold of civilizational affluence/comfort, civilization naturally collapses due to low birth rates. The mouse utopia experiments provide credible evidence for this thesis, unfortunately. In this context, I believe he is accusing you of trying to stop a hurricane with a pinwheel. For what it's worth, though, I appreciate your comments on the subject, and do not find them futile.

A newspaper in my area probably costs 2100 sats, so rather than buy a newspaper every day, I send the sats to you. Framing it in this light, I think it is reasonable to sell 15 more "newspaper subscriptions" by Q2 or Q3 2026, but probably not by Q1. The most important factor for success, in my opinion, is teaching the audience to view Flash has an opt-in subscription service designed to reduce or remove the need to seek out other news media, rather than just as a random news account.

Ledger, for example, has no mechanism to display the private key on the device. If one loses the written copy, therefore, there is no way to know the private key without starting a new wallet (with a new private key). In such cases, one can still use the Ledger to access the Bitcoin (without a new wallet), but one cannot take the Bitcoin off the original Ledger without using the device itself to sign the transaction.
