We're back at Barry Library celebrating Fix It Feb - and we are open until 1pm!
Our team of volunteers will fix your stuff for free (personal items only, no businesses). Our golden rule is if you can get it through the door and it's not a microwave, we'll give it a go.

The Richard's did a great job fixing two lawnmowers at our July cafe.
If you've been busy in the garden and discovered that something isn't working, why not bring it along to our next repair cafe on Saturday 2nd August from 10am until 1pm.
Please note we do not fix items for businesses - we are a volunteer group who repair items for individuals for free.

If you have skills in fixing items, or want to learn how to, we’d love to have you join us. And if hands on stuff like that isn’t your area of expertise, we can find things for you to do; helping with drinks, setting up and packing down, translating our posts into Welsh, taking photos, or meeting and greeting.

We were honoured to be able to fix this 60 year old anniversary clock for one of our attendees. Kevin worked very hard to restore it to its former glory & the gentleman it belonged to was very happy to have it back in working order.
It's moments like this that keep us so passionate about what we do - being able to extend the life of an item with so many meaningful memories is a real honour.
We're back at Barry Library on Saturday 3rd of May from 10am til 1pm.

Today's cake from Ann is this delicious Easter themed chocolate cake which is going down very fast!
Ann is an excellent baker and we appreciate her not only volunteering her sewing skills every month but also bringing in homemade cakes like this.

We saw some serious team work at our January repair cafe.
A much loved child's teddy bear came in for repair and after Ann stitched it, Juliet, one of our tea and coffee volunteers, started stuffing it. And when Juliet had to go, Mim, another attendee, finished stuffing it while she waited for her own item to be fixed.
That's the community spirit we love to see!

We can also offer advice on how to fix things yourself like we did today for a gentleman whose large grandfather clock had stopped working.
He couldn't bring it in due to its size and how delicate it is but Kevin was able to share his expertise to empower him to fix it himself!

You would not believe the tech problems we are having today - our form filling laptop decided to do updates, so @npub1q4a…3axc borrowed @npub1zu5…nk28 's laptop and managed to kill the internet on that, before trying the repair cafe's tablet which wouldn't connect to the bluetooth keyboard!
