I have tried with combinations of iOS, Android, Mac OS and Linux on testrun and your arcane server and have noticed issues with the reliability of notifications. While this is understandable in diverse situations of different configurations it seems like a issue that has been continually occurring for everyone I have talked to who is trying to use deltachat and isn't a developer of deltachat

this isn't mastodon specific tho, it would need to be "patched" in every codebase that supports sharing so the boost number would still be correct otherwise every piece of software that shows interaction numbers will inflate them for posts that are interacted with by Tags.pub

ActivityPub has no analogous feature to the Verification we are looking at here on Bluesky. If you are talking about Mastodon's implementation of rel="me" link verification this is not an part of ActivityPub this is Mastodon using the a microformat developed by the IndieWeb community and it really does a totally different thing then the Verified badge that Bluesky has. And any server in the fediverse can set up a rate limit, and I am sure many have *some* in place.

Hey lovely fediverse friends, as many of you might know, I help run some fediverse instances and I am currently paying way way too much money out of my own pocket because mastodon and mastohost have an awful habit of caching way too much and not giving good user accessible tools to prune away unneeded cruft. I could really use some community help supporting the instances I am currently paying for. Already in the process of figuring out how to move to a new server this month...

they advertise themselves as a Security and Privacy product to people who then think it is SAFE for them to give personal data to Proton cause they are a "privacy respecting" email provider. There is ways to make money without collecting peoples credit card info and assigning it to the registered account. This is why projects like https://njal.la exist

Started my journey off by buying stupid snacks at a gigantic Lidl which I affectionately call Bigl. I think sometimes it *can* be very relevant information, though it gets increasingly more complex of a situation. Lets say you are using software that supports emojo reactions like Misskey and Wafrn, if you see a post and you want to send it a stupid :skull360: as a reaction, and it has one of those icons you can know they get it, if it has a Mastodon icon next to it you can assume they will not receive the :skull360: reaction. Now multiply this by however many features each server has

I just discovered that @npub19xa…rx37 joined the fediverse at the end of last year with little fan fare. I see they still haven't added a social link to the bottom of their website either but they did verify their URL here which is more then many institutions.
I added their account to @npub1e5g…hkaj so maybe they will now automatically show up now on various #fediverse account viewing websites that source from there.

this is the default browser for everyone on Graphene which in fedi circles is pretty highly used. I just made sure to update to the newest version but its still only showing the outlined versions. I just checked Firefox and the color emoji are showing up there tho so I guess it seems to do with something specificity with Vanadium

Google's new live voice AI is insane, I just had an long conversations with it. You can ask it to speak in different accents and languages and it responds on the fly. I asked it to give me a recipe for something in Farsi "Ghormeh Sabzi" and it understood it and started responding with a recipe for a "Gorbe" Sabzi instead (that means Cat) and when I pointed that out it corrected its mistake and apologized profusely, then I asked it to give me an actual recipe for a cat...

as someone with accounts on all the fediverse platforms I can get my hands on, I follow each new account from this one and turn on Notifications for them here so then when I post or do something on BookWyrm for instance it shows up in my notifs here and I can choose to boost it if I want it to get "reach"
