Thank you! It has been long time when I was last this excited about new phone :)
It has been a blast, for me the setup was smooth and everything seem to be up and running. Huge upgrade from Xperia 10 III.
What kind of problems are you facing with the Signal? I setuped android Signal for calls and even the backup worked well. I use native Whisperfish for chats, so I kind of have two Signal apps running =D Android app only sends notifications of calls

IMO For average user it doesn't matter at all if it is ~98% or 100% opensource. For some users sure, but not for most. I think the opensource bits of thread was a little bit subplot.
We should also avoid situation where we claim something isn't open source, when ~98% of it is. I don''t think the claim was false for ~98% of SFOS, which is probably what matters to most users. Of course clarifications can and should be done, in a polite manner.

They have developed the SFOS quite well in co-operation with community imo. As we can see basically whole core is open source, expect UI bits. Proprietary apps I never understood, but luckily they have said to open source those. So much in those that could be improved, didn't understand why not allow contributions.

Don't know why in every other post we are talking about Putin/Russia? I haven't targeted GOS, haven't posted anything to your posts or tagged you in any way. Are you feeling okay? 14 messages seems extreme.... And we are so off topic here... Don't know him personally, don't really care as you demonstrate that the toxic communication part is definitely true. Didn't say that GOS is bad project or anything, did say it is probably the safest out there. It just is fact that GOS doesn't bring anything to European value chain if someone wants to ditch US solutions, isn't it? Nothing bad with that imo, what does GOS think?

My understanding is that #SailfishOS is the most mature Linux phone out there. What I have researched it seems to be fully ready for daily driving and with compatibility layer you can even use most Android apps.
I will go with Jolla phone next as I want as European phone as possible. If you are journalist or opposition activist maybe GrapheneOS makes most sense but see this video before: https://youtu.be/4To-F6W1NT0
