Couple weeks ago I had to train a guy to do an easy (and easy to fuck up *bad*) task to do while I was on vacation. Came back to work today and found he did it perfectly. Made my Monday real easy. Weather was perfect and had homemade pizza for dinner.

Yesterday did my usual go to the market, drink a lot, and eat burgers. Then this morning shidded it all out at high velocity. Currently on liquid and bread diet until the storm subsides.

Bathroom is kind of long and narrow with the trash can on the opposite side from the toilet. The toilet paper holder is a bar spring-fit into the holder. Pretty standard for when the house was built. I got into a habit, whenever I need to replace the toilet paper roll, of taking the bar off and using it to fling the empty roll across the bathroom into the trashcan. I'm only at about 10% accuracy, but that's beside the point.
Just did the usual and used the bar to fling the empty roll toward the trash can, lost my grip, and whipped that fucker like a throwing knife. Smacked it into the wall, compressing the spring, which rocketed it straight back at me.
Not my proudest moment, to be sure.

I've done the same thing for similar reasons twice in my life and I am far, far better off as a result. In my opinion it is absolutely not worth maintaining the relationship. You are better off making new friends and you'll be happier for it. These sound like miserable people that want to drag you into their misery.
What's unusual is that one of them is reaching out. In my case all they did was spread rumors about me and mine. Easy to ignore once I learned the only people who listened were of the same caliber. For the one guy putting in effort to contact you, he earns the prize of a curt, no bullshit explanation. Something like, "You have been trying to reach me for a while so I will give you an explanation. The group was a consistently hateful environment and I no longer have the energy to tolerate it. I hope you understand and can change for the better. Until then, please leave me and my family alone." Let those close to you know the situation in case he doesn't take the hint. Afterwards hydrate and be prepared to take a massive dump when all that stress leaves your body.
