Imagine posting on Nostr, Mastodon, or another decentralized social platform — and being able to send or receive a few cents of Bitcoin Cash without leaving the conversation.
This idea is now being seriously discussed in the Bitcoin Cash community.
A proposal on Bitcoin Cash Research suggests building a tip bot that could work across decentralized social protocols, with Nostr and ActivityPub among the possibilities.
💡 The idea is bigger than a simple tipping bot.
Bitcoin Cash is designed to be peer-to-peer electronic cash.
Nostr is designed around decentralized identity and communication.
Put those two ideas together, and something interesting happens:
🌱 Content can move without depending on a single platform.
🌱 Users can interact without traditional payment systems.
🌱 Small BCH payments could become part of online social interaction.
🌱 A creator could potentially receive value from someone who discovered their content outside the BCH community.
And this last point may be the most important one.

I think BCH itself is already the strongest asset in the ecosystem. Personally, I'd rather see BCHNostr focus on real utility, fair rewards, and user growth than introduce another token. Building lasting value is more important than creating hype.

"Spamming and Multiple Accounts on BCHNostr: Is It Fair or Ethical?", and I believe it highlights an important issue. While multiple accounts and spam deserve attention, there is another challenge that may be even harder to recognize because it often appears completely normal.
It is the formation of **small, closed engagement circles**.
These circles can emerge naturally. Friends from the same country, users who joined through each other's referral links, or people who interact with the same group every day are not doing anything wrong simply by knowing one another. Communities are built through relationships.
The problem begins when those relationships become the primary reason for engagement.
If the same group constantly tips one another, comments on one another's posts regardless of quality, and promotes each other while rarely interacting with the wider community, the platform slowly becomes less open.
This is not always intentional. Sometimes it starts with good intentions:
I'll support you because you supported me.
"You tip me today, I'll tip you tomorrow."
"Let's help our country's community grow."
Individually, these actions may seem harmless. Collectively, however, they can create an ecosystem where visibility depends more on belonging to the right circle than on creating valuable content.
That is a dangerous direction for any decentralized platform.

A referral should be the beginning of independent participation, not the creation of a small economic alliance.
The same principle applies to national communities.
It is wonderful to see users from the Philippines, Türkiye, Nigeria, India, Brazil, or any other country supporting each other.
Regional communities help people communicate in their own language and introduce BCH to new audiences.
But support should never become exclusivity.
When engagement remains inside national or referral-based groups, the platform risks becoming fragmented into isolated islands instead of one global community.
The long-term value of BCHNostr depends on trust.
Trust grows when rewards are earned because content is useful, conversations are meaningful, and support is genuine.
Trust weakens when users begin to believe that visibility is determined by private networks instead of public value.
None of this means that friends should stop supporting friends.
It means we should also make an effort to discover unfamiliar creators, read posts from different countries, and reward quality wherever we find it.
Decentralization is not only about removing central authority.

For me, the real question is: **What kind of community are we trying to build?**
Rewards, tips, faucets and engagement can certainly make BCHNostr more interesting. But if someone starts creating accounts just to boost their own content, collect extra rewards, or manufacture engagement, the numbers may increase while the real value of the community decreases.
The same goes for spam. Posting just for the sake of posting can generate activity, but activity is not necessarily engagement. A thoughtful comment, a genuine tip, or a useful post from a real person can be worth much more than dozens of empty interactions.
I’m still relatively new here, so I’m learning how this community works. But one thing already seems clear to me: **trust is more valuable than a short-term reward.**
