Last Notes npub1hgzr4umaq5rjy3mezcmwfn5fntkay3s5wlqsy5cyedglwxdr6y0q6ypk5a Mitch I completed the first draft of the new TV-B-Gone kit V2. :) https://github.com/maltman23/TV-B-Gone-kit_V2 https://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/116/107/533/130/584/115/original/c3920ec36118b11c.jpg npub1hgzr4umaq5rjy3mezcmwfn5fntkay3s5wlqsy5cyedglwxdr6y0q6ypk5a Mitch MOSFET advise? For the design of my new version of TV-B-Gone kit, I'm currently struggling with finding a through-hole power MOSFET that can be driven with 3.3V, and that, in turn, can drive 4 (or more) IR LEDs. Any suggestions? https://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/115/485/052/475/834/015/original/80db149889ba486c.jpg npub1hgzr4umaq5rjy3mezcmwfn5fntkay3s5wlqsy5cyedglwxdr6y0q6ypk5a Mitch FAVOR to ASK: I'm working on a new version of TV-B-Gone kit. Please let me know which TVs your TV-B-Gone (any type) does not turn off ! I'll fix that. :) https://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/115/475/701/707/565/471/original/c1ab199951779019.jpg npub1hgzr4umaq5rjy3mezcmwfn5fntkay3s5wlqsy5cyedglwxdr6y0q6ypk5a Mitch I just found out that Microchip has a link to a database of 78 DIY synthesizers that use their AVR chips. My ArduTouch is listed there -- along with lots of other way cool DIY synths. :) https://diy-synths.snnkv.com/ https://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/114/279/766/979/395/998/original/a1427fa9cb7ca444.jpeg npub1hgzr4umaq5rjy3mezcmwfn5fntkay3s5wlqsy5cyedglwxdr6y0q6ypk5a Mitch : Cool idea! And, it would be really nice to put energy back into hackerspaces.org. Unfortunately, I've lost track of hackerspaces.org, long ago. I think the email list is still active. Maybe try posting there? Also, someone started a Telegram group of the same name and logo -- maybe try posting there? npub1hgzr4umaq5rjy3mezcmwfn5fntkay3s5wlqsy5cyedglwxdr6y0q6ypk5a Mitch Tickets are now available for HOPE_16 (the 16th Hackers On Planet Earth conference), which is now an annual conference (instead of every two years) in New York City! https://store.2600.com/products/tickets-to-hope_16 https://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/113/840/286/958/843/625/original/4efd8089a7befb00.png npub1hgzr4umaq5rjy3mezcmwfn5fntkay3s5wlqsy5cyedglwxdr6y0q6ypk5a Mitch For anyone really into soldering, the newly released soldering iron from iFixit is really nice! They gave me one to try out a couple months ago, and I find it a joy to use. It heats up almost instantly, the tip always cleans easily, and it runs on any USB-C power supply, including a USB-C battery bank. https://www.ifixit.com/products/fixhub-power-series-portable-soldering-station https://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/113/176/217/690/927/212/original/53fd9bf251c0315f.jpg
