For the design of my new version of TV-B-Gone kit, I'm currently struggling with finding a through-hole power MOSFET that can be driven with 3.3V, and that, in turn, can drive 4 (or more) IR LEDs. They gave me one to try out a couple months ago, and I find it a joy to use. It heats up almost instantly, the tip always cleans easily, and it runs on any USB-C power supply, including a USB-C battery bank.
