oh gnostics do have a concept of sophia for sure but it is distinctly different from the orthodox concept. its an attempt to affirm created existence if anything.
i dont think the cross as coronation is an inversion of earthly kinghood so that Jesus can return as a normal king later. i think the crucifixion is as much the hight of glory as the resurrection (the easter triad is one mass even!). as those who use the language would say, divinization is being crucified alongside christ. i dont think the second coming is fundamentally different. i think it’s the restoration that has intruded into the world made total.

christianity as i experience it is in a bit of an interesting spot since we avoid some of the issues (i mean we now have a woman in the see of canterbury and by extension as primus inter pares of the communion and even the conservatives across largely like her). a close friend of the communion, the church of sweden has a straight up majority of women as clergy.
but obviously thats not *erased* patriarchy. its improvement to the point that we broadly realize women are no less an image if christ. a lot of east african anglicans want to bring back stoning gays but are fine with women as bishops.
and there are some things entrenched. its ‘our father in heaven’ and not ‘our mother in heaven’ as c s lewis’s cope argument against women’s ordination eagerly recalls. mary is our most treasured saint and, as my bishop argues, the most fundamental example of what it means to be christian (which has massively shaped how i think about a lot of things).
but we are a protestant church. we broadly do not hold her in the same esteem as our roman friends. the highest mariology actually comes from the christian east in the form of sophiology but idk much about sophiology and its not mainstream in anycase.
now gender and christianity does get a little weird since nobody serious is going to say that maleness somehow lies in the divine nature nor does it lie in the particular hypostases of the trinity (one of whom is often given the grammatical feminine). Jesus Himself gave birth as many icons understood the clear implications of the water from His body. maximus argues that sexual differentiation itself was against God’s design and ive seen maximians argued that the rift is closed in Christ (though only in principle before He returns)
and while jesus kept many women close to him and sent some out among the 70 apostles in luke, the 12 were all men. (well mostly. the apostle who rested at jesus’s bosom was often associated with a third gender in medieval thought bc of his associations with certain prayer practices).
many early transmasculine saints came to be venerated though transfeminine ones died in obscurity.
some might argue that the whole system of holy orders inherently represents a patriarchal sort of authority, and i can kinda see it but i ignore it bc everyone more protestant than me is scary. i will say that i think that many wrongly perceive of the role of bishop. i do think the conception that runs core to the infallible papacy leaves behind the kenotic inverted kingship of Christ.
all of this is disconnected and disorganized but this is genuinely the kinda stuff that bounces around in my head all day. i don’t really move from christianity bc if i converted to another religion i would be extremely christian about it and my sisters who build individual syncretic belief systems seem a little untethered imo.

yes john and the church fathers were fine with using concepts from greek philosophy. spermatikos logos is mostly connected with st justin martyr whose theology is a little controversial. st maximus the confessor of “the one logos is many logoi” is not controversial and the last church father recognized by all chalcedonian churches

btw if you want an image of monergist resistible grace, look to lutheranism regeneration (through baptism) happens regardless of the state of your heart and no particular action is required for salvation (they would emphasize that we still need to be reborn every day. its not like american evangelicals would have it). its more a matter of not fighting against gods grace (resistible grace!). the reformed anathematized the lutherans for saying you could choose against god when given grace

iirc presbyterians do allow a little more leeway than the continental reformed but i dont remember what that actually entails. i genuinely have lol. to focus on a diet angle, vegetarianism would be really easy once i move out. i like cook for myself and when i do my diet is really lentil-heavy. meat is an easy way to get a lot of calories admittedly but i have felt weird about eating it my entire life (and i actively need to have the flavor covered under spices most of the time bc i’m not big on the taste. especially chicken). beyond diet im already mostly pacifist (there may be rare circumstances when it is necessary to prevent like genocide or whatever but even in such situations the higher calling is still to find ways to carve pockets of life) and believe nurturing care should be directed towards our neighbors but also the whole of creation (st francis putting the worms on the roads back into the dirt is very dear to me)
but like, it gets so messy for me so fast bc ig when i focus on what is abstained from (which may be a skill issue on my end tbf), is it more compassionate to feed a pet snake rats or to allow it to starve? i would intuitively say it is more compassionate to feed the snake. it has been entrusted to your care, and to nurture it is holy.
but is this to drink of the nonsense of the world that “this is mine and that is yours?”
but on the other hand i dont think we should devolve into some animal-numbers utilitarianism bc that would lead to the end of the many beautiful ways God expresses Himself, including humanity

it feels like this cycle of consumption is inescapable. now, that changes if you take up a christian patristic perspective and only zero in on the level of fellowship humans may have with one another. the bulk of church fathers would say that while war (for example) is not permissible under any circumstances, consumption of meat is, bc we have no fellowship with them. but is *that* true? i mean maybe we dont have the same sort of fellowship but we certainly have some fellowship. the church fathers would not approve of wanton cruelty towards animals even if they would say eating meat is permissible. clearly we have *some* duty towards them even from that perspective, but it is extremely unclear to me what that is.
i think a lot about pylgia from ptn (lizzie moment) bc she approaches every situation with what seems to be the most compassionate action, be that hanging out with a scared fish in a fountain or feeding a young dolphin that cant hunt for itself (actually her therapist), but she is only able to do this bc she is part of a fiction.
i also have a strong belief that while their is a lower state it is greater to be in it. as Christ was the resurrection even into hell for the sake of liberation from sin, if hell claims anyone totally & eternally, it is better to count oneself among those it claims. (it really bugs me when people on here complain about ‘hylics’ tbh)

each person is the whole undivided essence, and there is nothing accomplished by God that is not accomplished by any given person. there is no creation apart from the son, no sanctification apart from the father, and no incarnation apart from the spirit. we do, however, relate to them in different ways as we relate differently to different people. similarly, they relate and interact with one another, and we would often describe the roles they play in different things in different terms
