What I'm trying to do is have a set top Linux box that can run anything I want. I need a UI that is remote controller compatible, much like Android TV. Yes, I can run Kodi. But that is one app. I don't want it to be my UI - I can use it for serving media from a NAS, etc. Maybe the odd add-on for live content download, but I also run my own RSS Feeds, etc.
For example I want to view PeerTube on there. I think Kodi would be limiting for me.

Thanks. I have used Kodi for years. I was hoping for something that would be underneath apps like Kodi - I have a Nvidia Shield which I love, but the future of Android becoming more closed and less able to side load apps, etc. has me looking elsewhere. Kodi is good for what it does, but relying on it solely for addons isn't likely to be enough for what I need.

100%. The number of normies that literally sit in front of their TV with Apple TV box, or Roku, or Nvidia Shield and just watch YT all day long, letting the algorithm suggest what they should watch is astounding.

Does anyone know of any plugins/addons for Jellyfin or Kodi that allow a user to subscribe to a #peertube channel or account, and automatically download the videos so they can be watched on #kodi or #jellyfin ?
