I appreciated the comments on how Bitcoin has helped accommodate family life - having your wife home and allowing margin for time with family. It has certainly served in the same way for us. Having recently welcomed our seventh child just a few weeks ago, I can’t imagine the stress I’d be carrying if it weren’t for the way in which Bitcoin undergirds my work and assures some good future.
Along the lines of daily uses, I’d been using a Lightning wallet which allowed multiple accounts in order to handle family banking for all my kids. Super easy way to deposit and transfer funds for them day to day. Unfortunately, that custodian shut down, so I’m now using a Litecoin wallet for each of them to accomplish something similar.

Reading up a bit more on this and found it interesting that initial intent for the protocol is that all communication would happen client-to-relay and relay-to-client. It was not intended that relays would talk with each other.
“Clients fetch data from relays of their choice and publish data to other relays of their choice. A relay doesn't talk to another relay, only directly to users.”
Rebroadcasting is an aberration.

I lean toward disagreeing with this. I think there is still a place for the 'like' – it is distinctive in its own right (wrong as it may often seem and do). In my mind, our actions in this digital social sphere map as thus…
'reply' furthers discourse/dialogue (cost: time)
'repost' communicates agreement/solidarity (cost: reputation)
'like' signals approval/consent (cost: none)
'zap' identifies/recognizes value (cost: money)
Our correspondence, kinship, and connection (whether IRL or not), need not always cost. We ought leave some space for the informality.
