Who is Satoshi Nakamoto?
Satoshi Nakamoto is the pseudonym used by the person or group of people who created Bitcoin, the world's first and most famous cryptocurrency. To this day, their true identity remains a mystery.

1. What did he do?

Adam Back: A renowned British cryptographer and CEO of Blockstream. Investigations pointed to strong technical, linguistic, and temporal similarities between his writings and Satoshi's, although he denies being the creator.
Nick Szabo: Computer scientist and creator of Bit Gold (a precursor to Bitcoin). His writing style is very similar to Nakamoto's, but he also denies authorship.
Other Names: Hal Finney (one of the first Bitcoin programmers), Craig Wright (who tried to prove in court that he was Satoshi but was legally discredited), Dorian Nakamoto, and Peter Todd (recently mentioned in an HBO documentary) have also been cited.

It is estimated that Satoshi Nakamoto mined approximately 1.1 million Bitcoins in his original wallets.
