Yea…the only crypto I do as far as trades; I treat like company stock. Meaning, I don’t do pump and dumps.
If there is real world value, and they just so happen to use a decentralized method such as crypto as their “stock certificate” then I investigate further.
Otherwise it’s dominate chains, until they are not…

This is an interesting conversation and one that I think I’ve had on NOSTR before, and if not, I have certainly thought through it.
The crux of the conversation, ultimately hinges upon one’s philosophical stance.
Do we care more about bitcoin adoption or do we care more about the method of adoption?
You see, in one scenario “the thing” is the priority while with the other scenario, the person (or the relationship) is the priority.
So if we are going to call ourselves leaders, then we must focus on the relationship, and thus the action of helping people adopt bitcoin; not critique, or criticize the method by which they arrive at the status of adoption.
For if we take a purist, “this is the only way” approach, we will actually slow progress, and turn away more than we bring into the fold.
Once a person has adopted bitcoin, then we can help mature, or to borrow a church term, disciple them.
For if we approach bitcoin adoption this way, we will have long-term believers.
Converts that have arrived at the best decision for themselves, not because anyone coerced, or otherwise influenced them into one doctrine, or denomination of bitcoin.
Just like with Christianity, or any other religion for that matter, albeit be at I believe Christianity is a relationship, not a “religion”…that rabbit trail aside; we must learn as bitcoiners and we must learn as Nostriches, to major in the majors and leave the minor debates for later stages of a bitcoiner’s personal maturation.
Imagine it this way…
If someone was an alcoholic and ruining their life. Do you really care whether by what means they stop ruining their life?
No! You simply care that stop participating in that which is harming them and possibly others in their life.
To my earlier point; are we going to make Bitcoin about “the thing” or “the person”?
If it’s about the person, than it should not matter by which path they stop being an “alcoholic”…it only matters that they do.

I’m curious, couldn’t a soft, or perhaps it would have to be a hard fork of Bitcoin make it possible for it to become privacy favorable or no, inherently at the root, that is not possible with Bitcoin 🤷‍♂️

Love Portugal. The people there are amazing.

Good Monday Morning Nostriches!
I was reflecting on yesterday’s GM post, today.
I said “today is church” (in my head I was saying “we are going to church”) which got me thinking, especially since we never made it out the door and decided to opt for “couch church” instead.
In Greek ἐκκλησία (ekklēsia) literally means “the called-out ones” or “the assembly/gathering” of God’s people (not a building). Yet most people mean what I was thinking (we are going to a building to do a thing…)
While it’s certainly a minor thing, like one’s salvation is it dependent upon this, perhaps we could get in the habit of saying what the Greek word actually means…
 “I’m going to meet with the church.” This is clear, natural, and accurately reflects that you’re going to be with the people, not just attending a building.
• Short & clean: “I’m heading to the gathering.”
• Warm & relational: “I’m going to be with the church.”
Does it matter? Not really…but when we connect our hearts to our minds, we are more aligned with Biblical principles.
When we say “I’m going to church,” it can unintentionally reinforce the idea that “church” is a place or event we attend, rather than who we are as the called-out people of God.
Using phrases that focus on the people helps keep the biblical meaning front and center.

I’m thinking:
A. Small (currently have about 800GB available for storage)
B. Backup my Notes
C. Probably WoT based (cause on the surface that makes sense since I’m using mostly WoT relays other than Primal’s cached relay) 💁‍♂️
D. Blossom too 🤷‍♂️ (seems important if I’m too be a contributor to NOSTR but maybe 800Gb isn’t enough and this is another beast for another day)

This hit me upside the head in my devotions this morning.
In (Western) church services we are often told “speak to this mountain” and it will move.
This comes from Scripture, specifically Matthew 21:21.
So you will see people pray and speak directly to a specific ailment, as an example. They might speak “in the power of Jesus name, knee be healed” (I’m generalizing and slightly sensationalizing this for sake of example)
But here is the point I want to make:
It isn’t the name of the specific thing for which we are praying over…
It’s name of Jesus!
When you pray with authority in Jesus’ name. You don’t need the specific ailment’s name — you need Jesus’ name.

I often think we overcomplicate what it means to follow Jesus.
We add layers, programs, strategies, and systems — many of which are good — but sometimes we lose sight of the simple, clear call God has given us.
The prophet Micah captured it beautifully over 700 years before Christ:
“Mankind, he has told each of you what is good and what it is the Lord requires of you: to act justly, to love faithfulness [mercy], and to walk humbly with your God.” — Micah 6:8 (CSB)
Jesus didn’t come to make this more complicated. He came to fulfill it and show us how to live it.
As leaders, it’s easy to get caught up in building, growing, and executing. But if we’re not actively pursuing justice, extending mercy, and walking in humility with God, we risk leading from a place that looks impressive but lacks the heart of true discipleship.
Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is return to the simple.
Act justly.
 Love mercy.
 Walk humbly with God.
That’s the standard. Everything else should flow from it.

Fresh Aloe Vera from the plant (not the stuff in store bought bottles)
If you live in an area too cold to find it growing, some grocery stores sell a large leaf of it…or I’ve seen in Walmart a gallon bottle of “Aloe Vera juice” (near the beauty section) not sure how pure it is but if no alcohol in it and otherwise “100%” real gel from the plant, try that.

People like myself have a gift for finding the bugs and UX issues.
I can and do “build” but usually lead a project…I excel at quickly grabbing hold of vision and putting legs to it.
Transposing ideas from the C-suite down to those on and under the proverbial ground doing the building.
So it really just depends on the person.

Years ago we instituted “push” and “pull” days.
Some days must be pull days, less active or full on rest days.
What are 2 even more powerful lessons is when you realize:
1. Rest is Biblical, and
2. There are seasons.

Yea I’m aware of that.
But from my recollection (and the resource you provided) “confession” was presented by Christ after his resurrection.
In my original note I was discussing scripture that is pre-death (and thus Christ’s resurrection).
The specific verses i discussed were Jesus declaring He would build His church upon Peter.
So I’m trying to understand the connection you are making between sacraments, specifically “confession”, and Peter being ordained as the first organizer/leader of the Body of Christ.

Sometimes a video stops you.
I watched a groomer carefully work on a severely neglected dog whose fur was so matted and tangled that it could barely move. The mats were so thick they connected its ears, tail, and paws into one heavy, painful mess. You could hardly tell it was a dog.
As I watched the slow, patient process of cutting away what was weighing it down and restoring what had been trapped underneath, I couldn’t help but think of what Christ does with us.
We come to Him matted. Tangled. Weighed down by things we can’t even name anymore. Unable to move freely.
And He doesn’t just clean the surface.
He restores.
He frees.
He makes us new.
As leaders, this picture stays with me.
A lot of the people we lead are carrying matted layers — old wounds, sin patterns, dysfunctional systems, or the weight of life. Surface-level fixes don’t work. Real transformation takes time, patience, and a willingness to go deeper.
But here’s what I keep coming back to:
Only Christ can fully untangle what’s truly knotted.
Leadership can create environments of refuge and patience. We can walk with people through the process.
But the real transformation? That belongs to Him.
(I’m not crying, you’re crying.)

I see Jesus ordaining, arguably, the founding leader of the body of Christ (aka “the church”, believers)

Sometimes reading scripture you are like “oh that was cool” or “I’ve read this 50 times before but never caught that nugget…”
Then other times you are “🤯 whoa!!! You mean to tell me…”
This morning was one of those days as I studied Jesus ordaining Peter to build His church (the body of Christ, not a building, institution, or legal entity).
“And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the forces of Hades will not overpower it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth is already bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth is already loosed in heaven.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16‬:‭18‬-‭19‬ ‭HCSB‬‬
What grabbed me was the concept of “bind and loose”.
TIL this is heavenly authority and was common rabbinic language.
• Bind = to forbid or prohibit (declare something off-limits according to God’s Word).
• Loose = to permit or allow (declare something permitted according to God’s Word).
The Greek tense is important: “whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven.”
This means you are not creating new spiritual realities — you are declaring and enforcing on earth what God has already established in heaven.
Practical meaning for believers today:
As the church (the people of God), we have been given authority in Jesus’ name to:
• Declare what is forbidden by God (bind).
• Declare what is permitted and released by God (loose).
What this means is this: The church is not just a group of nice people meeting on Sundays. We are an advancing army that the gates of hell cannot stop.
This passage directly connects us (the church) to the spiritual battle we are in.
We have been given real authority (keys + binding/loosing) to push back darkness, proclaim the gospel, and enforce heaven’s will on earth through prayer and the Word.

I’m reading through Mathew right now in my devotions.
Just finished chapter 15.
So much good stuff in there. I like the detail Mathew provides compared to some of the other Gospels.
Also this week I did a word study on Ephesians 6:10-19 (Armor of God) really neat when you look at the Greek and compare translations.
It brings a whole new life to God’s word!

Tis the “Summer Storm” season and last night was one of the first overnight thunderstorms of the season and thus our newest family member; Miku the stubborn Shih-Tzu has experienced.
She doesn’t shake like crazy and try to hide like her fur sister, but she doesn’t like to wake you twice in the night to vomit on the bed 🤷‍♂️
Think I’d rather have the shaking, hiding dog than the one who is puking…
But alas, when you love them you put up with them…or at least that’s what you are supposed to to do 🤪
Late morning here in the home, dogs already onto their naps and other humans still asleep.

Well explained. In this version then, you are really just referring to taxonomy. The equivalent being hashtags or semantic tagging (Think the way Obsidian works)
If the idea is the core, you have to somehow denote the idea so it remains platform agnostic…enter hashtags.
Dr. Steven Downes pioneered the use of hashtags in this manner. He called them folksonomies. It’s been about 2 decades since I’ve worked with him on a project,
He was a long-time researcher at the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), with deep ties to universities and e-learning projects.
He pioneered advanced tagging / hashtag-style systems — In the early-2000s he was a leading voice in folksonomies, semantic tagging, and using simple tags/labels to create organic connections between ideas, people, and content. This was before Twitter hashtags exploded, but his work directly influenced how tags could form “webs” of knowledge.
The “Web of Trust” + “the idea is the connector” as you mention Jaques is Downes’ core philosophy (especially connectivism) which treats ideas themselves as the connectors.
People/profiles/ideas link not through central authority or followers, but through shared concepts, problems they’re solving, things they’re building, or thinking about.
Multiple factors (reputation, relevance, connections) create a decentralized “web of trust” where the network grades and surfaces valuable input. It’s exactly the system you described.
He wrote and spoke extensively on this in papers like “Semantic Networks and Social Networks” (2005) and his work on personal learning environments, where tags and links create emergent, trust-based knowledge networks.
You might want to read that paper and dig into some of his works!

Well you essentially have something like this within most mainstream (tech giant) social media platforms via their communities function.

The issue I see with what you are thinking @nprofile…lapa through is no idea exists without a person…without people…without relationships.
So the profile does somewhat need to be front and center; otherwise you run the risk of having to spin up thousands of different instances of the app; one for each idea/topic.
At which point, one of the core rules of technology is broken, “Technology will never be the cause of greatness only an accelerator thereof”.
So to set out to build something (anything) solely for technology’s sake isn’t prudent unless there is the underlying connector; that is human to human relationships.

Not to start an argument, purely for my own knowledge appetite
Isn’t the fact that when one creates a Pubky account they are forced to agree with Pubky/Synonym’s and further by extension (ownership) Tether’s terms of service and privacy policy…
Doesn’t this requirement in and of itself negate and therefore is hypocritical to the claim that Pubky is decentralized and open source?!
I’m struggling to reconcile the two…

Crazy thing is the so called “bankers” at your local bank have no clue.
We had to get our son a checking account yesterday (so he could learn to manage the money he is earning) and his mom and I were using terms like “fiat” and the “banker” (just a customer service person trained to push buttons ask “what is fiat?”
Then she offered him a safety deposit box and he didn’t know what he could use it for, I said, well you could store gold or silver coins in there if you didn’t want them at our home safe.
The representative then chimed in “well we don’t recommend storing money in there” and then proceeded to explain “with a savings account the bank will pay you to deposit money…”
My son asked “why would the bank pay me?!” (He knew the answer 🤑 but this lady didn’t…)
Fractional reserve baby!
I was so torn getting him a bank account…
Soon he will be on a Bitcoin standard though…just hope rails like Strike and Fold allow custodial or private trust accounts soon…

We have 2015 Highland and Sienna (non-hybrid) we love both of them and they run like new!
Sienna has over 300k miles and Highlander over 160k miles (you’ll need to do the miles to km conversion for yourself 😜 )
Buy a toyota 1-3 years old, like one coming off lease.

I would tend to agree with this.
AI is:
A. Partially hype (the hot trend at the moment), but also
B. Can’t be ignored. (Sort or like if you wanted to stick to the fax machine when email came along.)
So people are going to have to adapt and adopt.
As with anything on the technology adoption curve, we’re still before the gap.
As such there is still a lot of man in the middle that has to happen.
Even something as basic as giving agentic AI access to your email to accomplish inbox zero… is foolish to give AI carte blanche delete access.
We also have to recall that AI will only ever be as good as its inputs open, just like us humans).
Therefore, those of us who are thought leaders must continue to produce our own thoughts!

Good Morning Nostriches!
NGL dogs got me up and 4am 🤦🏻‍♂️ and I’m on day12 of back spasms throughout the night.
Combined this has me a little frustrated. Not yet cranky…but a bit miffed for sure.
This weekend is basketball tournament for the teen. ⛹️‍♂️
At practice on Thursday he hit 7 three’s, four in a row and had a total of 31 points on the varsity team…he’s in 8th grade 😯
Whether he makes it pro or not, I know God has great things for him!
Finishing up an internal project this week then I plan to get back into producing content for Above the Line Leader.

Yea. Having followed you for a bit now, I’m sure you were thinking along the lines of something more technical, network related perhaps.

This is a tough one for me as I’ve been a teacher, administrator, and board member of Christian schools.
The idea is noble, the execution is often misguided and/or unknowingly deceptive.
Here’s what I mean: the “school” often ends up wagging the church’s proverbial tail.
The church has “all these rooms sitting unused during the week…so what if we open a school?”
Then the church sees the increased revenue and tends to forget the calling you outline…to raise disciples.
It becomes a competition and marketing battle to see which Christian school can get the most students…
Now Biblically the great commission (to which you refer) is peer to peer…relational!
Soon as we put a structure around it, it sadly tends to become transactional.
Furthermore, the instructions within the Bible to bring up children in the way of the LORD is given not to an institution rather to individuals…the parents.
Thus, today we homeschool our son.
For a variety of reasons such as college isn’t really that important these days (both my wife and I have higher ed degrees and we use just about zero of it in our business, life, or impact) but primarily because we believe there is no better person or group of people on earth to raise the child God Himself has entrusted to us.

It was the 2008 versus 2010 related to how old bitcoin was I think the question was when was the white paper written and I knew bitcoin was about 15 years old and I’m like you know what but I think the white paper was before that so my mind was like 2010 but in my heart, I knew it should’ve been 2008 so I chose 2010 and got it wrong.
