according to the Maple Scan App, some of French’s mustards (eg. Classic Yellow, Original Yellow, and Honey Dijon) are manufactured in Canada as well as using Canadian mustard seeds. if you go to Remembrance Day services and watch the old veterans parade, they are all in step and look sharp. Most of them have not done drill in many decades, and they have still never forgotten it. I remember walking with my Dad, and as soon as he heard the pipers fire up, he stood up straight as an arrow and started marching in time.

I have been thinking about this for awhile, and the only thing that I have come up with is that they have fully bought into the Club of Rome postulations and come to the conclusion that killing off billions of people is the only way to mitigate climate change. The oligarchs et al. think that they and the people they invite into their bunkers will be the ones to survive and they will then have power over whatever is left.

I think that some people who don’t vote really believe that voting for anyone besides CPC or LPC is a “wasted vote.” I haven’t figured out how we persuade them otherwise, but I keep trying. The main parties, and the media keep spewing this narrative that minority governments and coalitions are somehow bad, so we “shouldn’t vote for a party that can’t form a majority. In fact minority govt usually end up being good for us ordinary people.

I doubt it. Singh views himself as the successor to Jack Layton. As much as I liked Jack, I did not think that his drive to destroy the Liberals was good. It left us with four years of Harper that we did not need. Not that the Liberals helped themselves at that point, but still.

I was going to choose Debt, but this one seemed to synthesize it all together for me. And, as a side benefit, I really liked how they disproved a lot of the theories that “popular historians” like Harari, Pinker, Diamond et al. have been spouting, despite existing evidence to the contrary, over the past couple of decades.

I remember my parents getting a whole pile of manure from a local farmer dumped on the driveway to be put on their garden and flower beds (no wasteful big plastic bags at that time) . And, yes, I had to help shovel it into the wheelbarrow to take it into the backyard. My folks grew the best veggies and their rhubarb crop was legendary (to the point where everyone who came over in spring got some to take home).
